Here's a few ideas I've thought of for redstone, enjoy.
Redstone Block.
The Redstone Block could either be a new block, or a previous block that will be able to conduct redstone current (possibly an iron block) but if it were to be a new block it could just be made out of 9 redstone, or some other way; but the main point of this would be basically for aesthetic purposes, and being able to make things a bit more compact possibly. Rather than having something like a gateway using pistons (in the next update) with redstone running across the top and wiring all over, and you cant make your walls go right up to the edge because there would be redstone in the way, but with the redstone blocks you could just place a block and it will fill the whole block rather than having holes all over. (Can also be used for vertical redstone travel, though I heard that might be implemented anyway) Now, if you don't make the whole wall out of redstone, it might not look THE BEST but I'd take that any day over holes where redstone needs to run through.
THOUGHTS THAT MIGHT WORK, BUT AREN'T SOLID:
It could decrease the length of travel though to 9 blocks or something, so it isn't completely overused
If a redstone repeater is placed on top of it, it continues/slows the current just as if it is placed in a line of redstone.
Redstone Inverter
A redstone inverter can be made now, and they are very simple; but so were the redstone repeaters, so I don't see why this can't be added as well. What an inverter does is basically inverts the current so if you have 2 currents leading to 2 different doors and they are connected at one switch, the inverter can invert it so one door is open and the other is closed, and then when you flip the switch they switch. I can't really explain them well, look them up yourselves. But it would be much simpler if you could place a redstone inverter in a path of redstone and it gets the same effect; this wouldn't be too useful to people who already know the old method, but for people new to redstone it can be helpful, if there's an item for it it's already easier, haha.
I don't have a crafting recipe thought out for it, but that's not the point of this really.
Redstone Repeater Flip (?)
I was trying out some things with redstone and I wanted to do this but I don't think it's possible momentarily, but basically an item that can flip the settings of 2 repeaters. For example, I was trying to build a lightswitch using pistons; Here's the concept: flip it up, The cobblestone gets pulled back and the glowstone gets pushed in, and when I flip it down the glowstone gets pulled back and the cobblestone gets pushed in. But, in order to do this, I need the glowstone to be slower on one flip, and on the second flip I need the stone to be slower. I don't really know a well thought out way to implement this as an item, but I'm sure it would be very helpful for making new things. (PLEASE give me some ideas on this one)
Sound ideas (that could have already been suggested) a few questions though. How will these inverter blocks be placed? and do they have the ability to transmit up like a on top torch inverter?

Good for you?
Did you take a wrong turn or something?
