I did a quick search using the search feature and I took a look at the 'Already posted suggestions' topic and didn't see a post regarding this so my apologies if it has already been posted.
I read the post saying that 11/11/11 has been filled for game releases, I guess stores can only handle so many games at once, and realized that there are still other dates on the calendar that are also eye-catching. The format of the date might not work for each date (meaning dd/mm/yy or mm/dd/yy).
11/22/11, 13/12/11, 09/10/11, 1/11/11 (or 11/1/11). All of these dates give Mojang a decent amount of time to complete their goals for the game considering they're generally around, or even later then their original date.

well, he did say dd/mm/yy OR mm/dd/yy, still, I don't know of anyone sane whom uses dd/mm/yy. I mean, it's technically acceptable, but really... like... NO ONE USES THAT.
