Please notice: This suggestion works with pistons, which will hopefully be in the 1.7 Patch!
I present to you one of my suggestions: Sticky Blocks.
They would have no actual use in the common-day, but would work alongside Sticky Pistons.
If you, for example, have a wall you want to work as a door as well, but you want it to subtract down, instead of to the sides, you would use "Sticky Blocks".
Sticky Blocks would glue together with other blocks, which would allow many blocks to be pushed and dragged by a single piston.
Here's an example:
You want the Mossy Stone to go down into the floor, so that you can pass through. But the problem is the piston would only drag a single one of the Mossy Stones, without it being sticky.
Then you apply the sticky stuff (slimeball(s)), so that it can drag both of the Mossy down.
Of course, this would require the Piston to be extended with one block, to allow for room.
This would be done by crafting the top layer of the piston-design, and then right-clicking it onto a piston.
It would be crafted like so:
Here, the Mossy Stone resembles the want you want stickied.
Explanation of items:
Cobblestone Mossy Stone Main Piston Block Piston Extension Slimeball
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed the suggestion. Depending on feedback, I may or may not add banners -- also, please remember that this feature neither would or could be added before the addition of pistons.

The problem being that pistons can't move more than 1 block at a time, at all.
I know, and to that I say:

Also to lemonnater:
I think I'd rather give them the idea now, rather than wait another 3 months for the update (exaggerating, I know). By this I'm not saying that I expect it to be added to the game ASAP, but I'd rather know of things I should do with something, while I'm working with that very something, rather than having to go back to it later.
Same thing with the Nether: Notch knows it needs more stuff, but he's not interested it in the Nether right now (at least, that's how I've understood it).

Hnng.. Bump!
I was asked to wait with this idea, until the release of 1.7; and so I did.
I didn't feel like making another topic, since that would be mindless, since this was already created.
But, feel free to come with your opinions on this, again. :smile.gif:.

I guess it would work like Cobweb, slowing them down, while making a splish splash sound.
