Well, I was walking to one of my islands on my bridges, and I noticed that I got there at around noon. I want a faster way of travel. We can put saddles on pigs, but we can't control them. My first idea is to add horses that you can attach saddles to. You could control them and it would be much faster than normal walking.
Another idea I have is a spindle, to turn excess wool into string. I have so much excess wool, yet pretty much nothing useful to do with it. The only thing I did with wool was make a target for my bow and my bed, but that's about it.
My third idea is mineable sulfur, which is like sand. It has a sandy texture and falls down if it has no support. It has more of a yellowish tint to it than regular sand. It can be combined with charcoal to make gunpowder. I looked at wikipedia just now, because I knew something could combine with sulfur to make it. We already have charcoal, and potassium nitrate is the other thing needed to make GP in real life, but I don't really think we need TWO new blocks, much less a block with a potentially confusing name.
A fourth idea is to make motors, so that we can have a faster and more controllable way of going in a boat. A boat is about the same speed as normal walking, yet extremely uncontrollable. I'm assuming something redstone related would be used so that the engine would have some way to be powered, either in the crafting of the motor or by placing a redstone torch in the boat. Another thing you could do with motors is make airplanes, so that you can fly to where you need to go at a quick pace, while also observing your surroundings.
My fifth idea is a hammer, to repair tools that you already have, besides hammers. Hammers should have fewer uses/life than normal tools so they aren't too exploitable without mods and stuff.
My last idea is some kind of single player console, where you can type commands to give you things, to spawn things, to use noclip/flying, and stuff. I've tried a couple inventory editor mods, but they haven't worked for me lately. And I DON'T want to break Minecraft. I almost did once. I was actually scared, no joke.
If any of these are suggested, please tell me. Please also link to the original idea, and I may modify it. If it is already different, don't bother complaining, since it's something completely new with a similar name or something.
If I come up with a new idea or change an existing idea, I will edit it into the OP and post a new reply into the thread as a notification of new ideas and/or changes.
Please be as friendly as possible, I don't want anyone's feelings to be hurt (not saying just me, but other people who come around to read), and arguments/insults are the last things that anybody needs.

Booster tracks are your friend.

Takes away the challenge of killing spiders for string

You can't really make an engine by yourself in the wild. Airplanes would destroy the purpose of boats/minecarts and overall be overpowered.

Left_2_Die summed up everything I was going to say. Try the TooManyItems mod, it works great. And if you are concerned about breaking your game, don't worry, just back it up before installing the mod.
Well, since I can't seem to get my post from yours, I guess I'll have to do this the old fashioned way.
1: Not everyone has current access to all those things that make all that fancy stuff. Sure, I've found a few good sized caves, but they're winding down. I might start doing further digging down in them later once I'm done finishing up surface stuff.
2/3: You're right, it is very challenging to kill them while on peaceful mode. Yes, I do play on peaceful mode. I do NOT want my stuff to get sabotaged by creepers, nor do I want to fix them. I don't necessarily WANT to fix them, but it feels like a must that I fix it ASAP.
4: Well I don't see why not. Tried sticking a stick to a rock in real life lately? Did in make a working electricity switch? I doubt it.
5: I guess so, but it's a bit difficult to make new things when you're deep underground. Maybe it could only repair them slightly, or weaken them by a small amount.
6: I did try the mod. It's the TooManyItems mod and whenever I do get a successful class file copypasta my game says it's done loading, but it doesn't go to the main menu, nor does it go to the Mojang screen. The loading bar actually shows just a small fraction of it not colored green. If you can tell me how to get it to actually work, it would be much appreciated.
I don't want to be the guy who only comments to tell you you're breaking forum rules (I'm new too, so I've been getting a lot of that lately on my posts) but this is your first post so I will advise you to read the Forum Rules page... because there are those who get really bent out of shape about this kind of stuff, and because you're breaking one of the more easily broken rules.
I like these ideas, but I have a few comments:
I agree that there should be some other transit options besides boats and minecarts (The airship mod is quite lovely as well). Adding horses is a good idea, but I believe Jeb has already confirmed that saddled mobs will be steerable.
I am wholeheartedly in favor of adding the spindles and craftable gunpowder ideas; perhaps instead of a block as you suggested, Sulphur could be an ore block that yielded Sulphur Dust once mined? I really don't have a problem with "removing the challenge" of obtaining these items, especially if the player intends to play on peaceful. With respect, Left_2_Die, there's some level of hypocrisy in saying that a concept like this "removes the challenge" while simultaneously advising the Single Player commands mod.
I don't like the idea of repair hammers, because I don't understand what's wrong with simply crafting a new tool once your old one breaks. I don't see the advantage of consuming resources to produce repair hammers when you could simply use those resources to make brand-new tools.
Hello, and Welcome to the Suggestions Forums!

Why can't we have multiple suggestions in one thread? Why is that a rule?
It makes things much less cluttered, and makes people look less like newbie spammers.
Either way, if it is possible for a mid to split up my ideas and remove the original topic, it would be much appreciated.

Because we don't want people to make one paragraph suggestions. If you are going to make a suggestion, make it nice an organized, not a wall of text, nice to look at, very understanding, and well thought out. For example, did you ever think how unbalanced mineable suplur can make it so that the people who don't want to fight creepers, can just as easily mine for sulphur, and get some tnt to screw others over. Not only that, but it takes away the whole point of creepers/going out at night.

With respect, Left_2_Die, there's some level of hypocrisy in saying that a concept like this "removes the challenge" while simultaneously advising the Single Player commands mod.
I meant as far as noclip/flying go. You don't have to use the block spawning feature of SinglePlayerCommands.

It would also allow for more of the things you need. I don't see that many creepers or spiders when I'm on easy for a night anyway. It's mostly zombies and skeletons. Skeletons can get very annoying when they gang up on you. I once had several skeletons gang up on me near my original spawn point. I was not a happy camper. And zombies, well I guess they're OK in numbers currently.

Basically, it makes it hard to focus on a single idea, and makes it hard for people to see if an idea has already been posted.
I'm afraid that a mod probably won't bother with it. Just turn this thread into one idea, and copy and paste the rest into new threads.
Oh, and don't worry about looking like a newbie spammers. We all were once, and you seem better then most, using good grammar, thoughtful posts, and responding to criticism without starting a flame war. Just follow the rules and you will be fine. :smile.gif:

Opinions in bold.
