I would LOVE to have a way to find huge cave systems without having to resort to MC Edit.
I think Minecraft needs some sort of sonar system. I have no idea what the interface would look like...but it would guide us to hollow spaces under the ground for those of us who just enjoy exploring underground caves.
Right now, unless you use MC Edit, the only way to find the vast underground caves is to dig randomly.

you can always use see through texture packs like strong craft or X-ray. the show large cave systems and it is easy to turn off just change texture pack
just make a 5x5x5 cube of tnt and the hole formed by the explosion should intersect a cave system...
also, usually digging a hole straight down to bedrock usually intersects a cave system.

I shoot my arrows in the air sometimes saying ay-oh, creeper's KO'd
..You do realise Minecraft has sounds for a reason? Turn up that one slider bar named 'sound'. You're able to hear water, monsters, and the like.
Yes, but until its at least 5.1 Surround Sound, it is still difficult to figure out which direction its coming from. Anyways, sometimes I just want to explore and RELAX...other times I play with Mobs on.
I discovered MC Edit yesterday and saw just how many little holes there are down there that aren't connected to any cave systems that lead up to the surface. Maybe another improvement would to make more cave systems that go deep under ground and reach up to the surface.
