Sort of like an AND gate but each switch has the ability to turn it off or on. I like the idea, since the current way of doing it requires some complex wiring to do. Maybe have it accept two inputs, one from the left and one on the right, and have the output at the end.
It could be crafted like this.

If you don't want to build an actual XOR gate, I once made one by linking the outputs of a NOR gate and an AND gate, and running it through a NOT gate.

Could be placed like a block or a torch but the current should only follow one direction (like a repeater).
I came up with it as a solution to my "train station problem", where I could only regulate everything from one place.
With this anyone should have things a little bit easier (or in my case possible) when managing redstone circuits.
