So when Notch and the good ol' team at Mojang released the weather update, it was awesome.
Until I had the misfortune of meeting an electrified creeper, who responded to my attempts to crush his skull by releasing an earth shattering explosion that rocked me to my core. And killed me.
Anyway, it was awesome, and it kind of felt like a boss battle. And it was all thanks to lightning, which is very rare, so like diamonds, it should have some awesome effects! So here we go!
-Lightning strikes a zombie - zombie becomes a giant! With double the health and double the attack, these lumbering giants' bark is worse than there bite, due to their size and speed, and since they are already in the game, it would be fairly easy to add.
-Lightning strikes a sheep - sheep changes colours! Just a little random thing inspired by a mod that caused sheep to spawn in all colours, this is just another fun rare event.
-Lightning strikes sand, cobblestone, or any smeltable item - it gets smelted! Yeah, just a little fun thing, thought it would be cool, and I mean it kind of makes sense, because lightning starts fire and such,...
-New block - Iron Fence! Crafted by 6 iron ingots the same way fences are, makes 4 iron fences. Looks cool, and also conducts electricity, and when it is powered it glows softly and acts like cactus, harming mobs that touch it. It also attracts lightning, so if lightning strikes in the surrounding area near an iron fence, it will go to the fence, powering it and anything connected to it. Can you say mad scientist laboratory!
-Lightning strikes a slime - slime becomes a huge slime! Another awesome thing, I feel like slimes aren't common enough, especially the huge ones, so this is just something to help the poor fellas out :tongue.gif:
Remember, these aren't things that you'll see every time it rains, just things to inspire you to get out when it does rain, and go exploring!
Ok those are my ideas, feel free to rate comment and subscribe- erh, I mean feel free to leave feedback. Hate it or love it, just don't troll it :tongue.gif:
Say lightning strikes iron ore. Does it become an iron block or an ingot? If it becomes an ingot, it will be dropped and disappear. If it becomes a block, then I'm placing all my unsmelted iron ore blocks outside on the chance that they'll be struck by lightning. Other than that, I like 'em.

What if lightning hits a zombie, in your house 0.o
How is a slime suppose to climb 64 blocks up to the surface AND get struck by lightning?
How is an 'iron fence' different from a lightning rod?
How does it make sense to have sheep turn color (besides black XD)?

Iron block is multiple iron ingots, and electricity can't exacly turn stone into gold, diamond, or iron.

No. I like having the creeper and the pig being the only lighitng-special mobs. It makes them more special and different. If every mob changed when hit by lighitng, it would be so much less fun. Let's just say I think it's good where it is.

I like the other ideas, though. RAINBOW SHEEP FTW!
