This is just a little idea I've been thinking about. It would transfer redstone current vertically, without delay or inversion, and without interference to surrounding
This block has four versions (Or maybe two if you consider the up-down versions as the same)
1. The first one is basically what was outlined in the first sentences. It will only receive power from the block directly below the entire spire, and will only power the block directly above it (Or vice versa in an inverted version of it). It would be crafted like this:
With glass being glass, red flower being a redstone torch, and the mushroom being redstone. This recipe can change, but I think it should retain the glass walling and redstone at the bottom.
2. The second version is basically the first version, but with delay options. Same functions and everything, and an inverted version
The halfblock is a repeater.
While you can currently do this by stacking redstone torches, this causes too much/ too little delay, and can interfere with surrounding circuits. Please let me know what you think.

Now I am terrible with redstone, but I do know that there is a mod that allows you to have wireless redstone.
I didn't mean wireless redstone (which really would never be impltemented because it is kinda obsurd in a place like minecraft. I meant,,, well look at this example.

With the bottom :ohmy.gif: being input from hidden machinery and the top being the output. While this is possible with stacked torches it adds unnecessary delay and can be hard to get exactly alligned.
