I doubt that if you activate the lower one the upper one will be activated too.
Well , i hope it does because then pistons would be really dumb ( yeah , they will have a lot of used but... it would be better if when it hits a piston it will transfer the energy of the redstone to it ).
How ? Well , Electricy ( AKA Redstone , tho i think redstone is not exactly electricity but it is almost as it ) is transfered by metals , iron being one of them , transferring redstone currents by piston will make the possibilities EVEN LARGER !!!!!!!!!

No. That would make them MUCH harder to use for people who don't want that. Don't be lazy and run wires to both of them.
And no, redstone is not electric at all and normal metals do not carry redstone charge. Electricity works in a very different, much more complicated way.

Redstone emulates electric circuitry. As I have said before, to say that redstone is not related to electricity because electricity does not come from a torch would be like saying that Minecraft pork chops are not related to food because food does not regenerate ruptured organs.

Sure, it emulates electricity. But is different enough that they cannot be called the same thing, and one can't say "Electricity does this, so redstone must too!". Redstone charge does not pass through metal: Only through redstone dust, a mysterious magical powder.

Certainly. The fact that one is based on another is no justification for altering the existing mechanics. My only concern is that I have seen people go as far as not admitting the relation, for whatever reason.
Actually you can get a redstone charge to pass through iron or gold blocks just like any other solid block, though this only means they're as conductive as dirt or cobblestone.
Pistons will move dropped items?
Suggestion:
How about also a longer piston? 2 square long using 2 irons?
tks
And we don't need longer pistons. Just use multiple.
