It does bother me with the world in how it always seems to generate the same in a way that its usually a bunch of small islands everywhere. Some are bigger sure but its all the same. What I suggest is a way to make the world you want to generate more specific for what you want. Such as giving you options to select when creating world for the first time. Like selecting Pangaea for a large land mass in the center and a huge body of water around. Continental for smaller and more masses of land, but still a large body of water between them.
The world is generated with a 3D perlin noise density map so it's not possible to create options like that to give the generator a tendency to generate a specific map type. You COULD use BiomeTerrainMod (I think it's called PhoenixTerrainMod now) when it gets updated, if it isn't already, or you could just find a seed that generates a world to your liking
