Hello! I am Fried Chicken, and today I am here to explain my new idea... New Seeds!
Now, we do have wheat seeds already, but what about apple, or strawberry, or possibly any other fruit, vegetable, plant seeds? I will explain the following seeds, what they do, how long it takes for them to produce the item, how many, what environment, and where to find the seeds.
Plant Seeds
Rose Seeds - Basic seeds that are found harvesting roses. There is a 25% rate of getting them, making them somewhat common. You can plant them anywhere, besides near water, or else you will drown the seeds and they will basically die. It takes only five minutes for a product of five roses to be made, making it an easier way to make yourself dye for your wool and such.
Dandelion Seeds- Exactly like the Rose Seeds.
Cocoa Pods- Very rare seeds found in rainforest biomes, only with a 5% chance finding one. You can find them chopping trees in a rainforest biome. It boosts the chance finding them 5%+ while it is raining. It is preferred to plant them near water, since you will need to refill your watering can (I will create a seperate thread and post a link to it later on.)It takes about 30 minutes to grow one. It grows a very small tree, that will avail with three wood and 2-6 cocoa beans.
Frostflower- A cyan colored flower. Only found in seed form in snowy areas by digging, with a 15% chance of finding them, making them even rarer to find one. The environment needed to grow one will have to be a grass block, with snow on it. It takes 15 minutes to grow them, giving you only three flowers.
Fruits
Apple Seeds- An easier way to find apples! Quite common with a 50% chance pruning leaves, coming with a sapling and seeds. The seed takes 1 hr to grow, making a tree with 6 wood and 6-12 apples.
Watermelon Bushes- Who doesn't want boxy watermelon? Found commonly in tropical areas while hoeing dirt. You will have a 15% chance of finding one. It must be grown in a tropical area, on grass, and takes 30m to grow. It produces 2-3 watermelons. It is cut into 5 slices with a sword and all slices heal 2 each, making it a reliable source of food.
Desert Nectar Pods- Extremely rare pods, found digging in sand in a desert biome with only a .50% chance of finding one! The nectar then can be cut open with a sword and can be drank, to heal a whopping six health!
Vegetables
Tomato seed- Common seed, usually found with carrots and eggplants. They are found in forest biomes commonly, with a 30% chance. It takes only 15m to grow, coming with 2-6 products.
Carrot- Same as tomato.
Eggplant- Same as Tomato.
Thanks for reading! I'll add your suggestions if I believe they are well written! Please criticize this idea, don't hesitate!
First of all, why do we need so many plants and what would they be used for? Please don't suggest 100 new crafting recipes for foods like chicken noodle soups, pecan pie, salad, etc, ETC.
Second of all, watermelons sound cool but seems TOO reliable, with a maximum of 30 Hearts per watermelon. Wheat is a staple for food around the world and only heals 2.5 per 3 wheat.
Cocoa bean pods sound cool but cookies are uber awesome and seems really weird to have an easy source of cookies.
Apple trees = yay but don't drop like 20 per tree >.>
Healing like 80% of your health in one food item seems too easy to me btw.
