The problem is, when I am in mid air (building a bridge for example) and I have to put a block below this one in mid air.
So, how can I solve this? If I born in a mid air island I will never could como to ground? Because the one way to go down in this case is jumping, but with this I will die...
I could say to create a parachute, so I can jump and put blocks below the ones in mid air.
I DISCOVERED THE ANSWER!!
ROPE!!
Look, we take a bunch of spider wire and make a rope. So, we put a rope in one side of the block and we could use it like a ladder, but the rope could go to places where don't have any blocks.
With a rope we can construc from below a block like this:

You will never spawn on an island in the middle of the air, unless you go into MCedit and set your own spawn point.
I think your suggestion would take pretty much all of the challenge out of mid-air building, so I don't really like the idea.
Agreed with above. The game is surviving and if IRL you were on a floating island (which exist XD) you'd have the task of getting down, or expanding Y not just X.
I understand the part of "you will never spawn in a floating island". But I build my nether portal in the third floor of my castle, so I spawned above the ground of lava and I don't have any way to go down. The only way is jumping down.

And I can't use water in the nether...
Auch, time to build a new portal I guess.
But you raise a valid point. Right now there is no way to building a stair of any type downwards without having a (existing) wall on the side of it.
The other option would be to go through the portal without any items than a few blocks of dirt. Then suicide by jumping down and try to place one or two blocks on the ground right before you hit the ground. Then rinse and repeat placing one extra block every time you respawn and jumps again. After a while you have made one or more pillars that can be used to break your fall just enough to not die in the fall, then you either build a stair or place ladders on the side of your pillar.
Or even better, if you can just about reach a vertical surface then jump out placing a piece of ladder on the wall. You will probably still fall to your death, but the next time you spawn you can try landing on the ladder (on the side, not the top) this will break your fall so that you take no damage.

Man, I don't know if this will resolve the problem, because you don't know how deep is the lava in the nether. It could be more smart bring a ton of sand or gravel and place in a wall and wait it hit the floor of lava. It could waste some time, but it will in some time build a pilar of sand. So I just have to place stones in the sides of pillar until I arrive the lava level and build a bridge until I arrive the netherack floor (I forgot the name of this block).
But I prefer the rope ideia that I put in the post above. I edited the topic...
I've hear rope suggested about 6 times, but I still find myself agreeing with it. Perhaps in the form of a rope ladder, though. But for now, I'll just keep being crafty.
