I thought of an idea of using portals to link cities together. Different groups of people create their on little communities on their minecraft servers. I thought a great way to expand this would be through the use of special portal types that can be placed by the admin of the two linked servers. A player who walks through the portal would be automatically logged out of the current server and logged in to the new server at the portal that was linked.
Using linked towns like this, groups can link their creations making it easy to show others their minecraft creations and growing the community aspect of the game. To keep people from just linking and going to other servers, the portal has to be linked on each end. If a player attempts to go through a one way linked portal, the transfer would be denied.
I'd like to here from others if they think this would be a good idea. There are already portals that connect the two worlds on the same server. It shouldn't be a major undertaking to get them to link to other servers.
