I havent thought about special uses for this but i wanted to share my idea with the forums , hoping some feedback for this idea.
So , i am introducing the 3 WAY LEVER
It would be crafted this way :
= redstone
The output would be a lever just a little larger and instead of : ON - OFF it will have more options.
Option 1 : Middle : If the stick is on the middle it wont pass any energy.
Option 2 : Left : If the stick is on the left it will pass energy to the left
Option 3 : Right : If the stick is on the right it will pass energy to the left.
by stick i am refering that thing in the lever that when you click it , it changes position.
and , it will be more complex.
Having to turn this left , right or off by yourself is not the only way , if we have complex redstone circuitry having way that we cant change this without having to be chaning it our self will make circuitry with these item MORE EASIER ( this is an extra for the ones who have complex redstone circuits , it can be toggled right/left or off with the mouse also )
I have not thought about good way to do this , but my idea is :
If it checks current for 1 - 3 redstone wires it will put it off
If it checks current 4 - 7 redstone wire it will put it left
If it checks current 8 or more redstone wires it will put it right.
Yeah , that will be really difficult , but other ideas are :
If is powered 1 time ( 1 redstone torch ) it will put it off , if 2 redstone torches it will put it left , and with 3 right , i know it would be really difficult check how much redstone torches are passing current to the 3 way lever , but its just an idea.
Okay , this is my suggestion
If you have any idea on how it will turn left/right/off with redstone current , feel free to post your idea.
Critisize my idea please , i need both point of views ( it rocks - why /it sucks - why ) so i can develop this idea correctly.
I got the idea until you began talking about just clicking it not being enough. Why can't clicking it just change the position of the lever?
No , you didnt understand me , that , there should be a 2nd way , because if you have complex redstone circuits , you cant be clicking all the stuff so it would change the current
Having an EXTRA of redstone changing it position will make complex circuitry easier.
I will modify the post , because people are not understanding me
So it could be changed with redstone , it will be like a redstone repeater , only that more complex and it would function clicking it or with redstone current.
How about The input is always facing the player when initially placed, just like a Redstone Repeater. Then the two off to the sides are the outputs, and it has a secondary input on the final side that can change the direction via Redstone? I think that's what you are getting at. I like it.
Edit: BTW this is basically a T Flip Flop that doesn't take a ton of space to make isn't it?

You got a good idea there!
, No , i think it should be 1 - 2 blocks width , probably only 1 , but because the " stick " will move right , center and left it should be bigger than a lever , but i know that a lever has not the width of a block , probably it could have the width of 1 block , i dont want it to be like 2 blocks , 1 is enough and is not that it will need a lot of space to work so , 1 block is fine.
