i think that since the armor in minecraft is plain it can maybe be customized, like for example maybe when a cow is killed it drops leather AND horns that could be added to the armor to make it look diffrent like adding the horns beside the armor in the crafting table would add horns on it changing the look and maybe some stone hammers to repair the armor so its not lost, what else could be added to the armor?
Although customizing armor would be neat, all the armor possibilities would add a lot of coding and texture file space. It could also add more one-use items, like the horns you mentioned. I support repairing armor though.
I see some potential in this idea. But one big thing- It shouldn't be based on how you craft it, just make an uploadable skin for each slot, like a player skin is. That way certain armor types could correlate with the characters skins. They will stay like the normal armors by default though. Of course this would raise some difficulties, it would be very interesting to see this improvement implemented.
I would much rather just see texture files that you can edit and upload. The armor overlay also needs work. I tried re-skinning my armor once and it looked like **** when applied to the actual armor layer but when applied directly to the skin it looked amazing. I actually refuse to wear armor because how dumb it looks. I don't see the point to even having custom skins if you can't even see it once armor is applied.

Maybe when you craft a helmet, place it in the middle square on the crafting table and the horns in the top corners. The idea of repair hammers would help alot...
Why? Get a texture pack. Mojang should spend 10-15 seconds working on textures. Because people can and will get texture packs.
i just think it would look cool and BTW i liked the ideas about custom paintings and books altough if i tried to paint in minecraft it would probably look like a abstract item lol

There is.
Exactly my point.
