On topic: Dungeons are easy to conquer, and only sometime yield epic rewards (G)(Apple)
Here are a couple of suggestions to increase dungeon difficulty, and to make them yield better rewards.
Increase mob spawners- If you put another, or 2 more mob spawners in the dungeon room, it will increase the difficulty by alot, and make dungeons worth going into besides disabling the spawner to get rid of the noises.
Better dungeon loot - depending on the depth of the dungeon, the rewards should change.
Ex: Layer 12 = diamonds, and so on.
Make dungeons bigger - dungeons should be 7x10 (35 blocks in width, 35 blocks in length)
This will make getting through the mob spawners alot harder, and again, making the rewards worth it.
Thats it and anyone who wants to post troll posts, or ignorant posts such as "Use the search bar" will be ignored. kthx.

For example, if the dungeon is generated on layer 18 the size generator would need to increase, the prize generator would need to increase. This needs to happen for every layer up to surface layer, since no dungeons spawn higher.
While it wouldn't be hard I doubt it would happen, probably because it'd be an @$$ to write in all the situations.

True, it would be a complete ass to code all this, btw you mut be a really lucky person because a 8 diamond vein is the highest amount of diamonds in one vien :wink.gif:.
I wont say , genius as the last guy said , but is a good idea i have to say...
Personally , i dont enjoy too much dungeons , i have only finded 2 dungeons , and is not that fun ( for me ) , i like more mining and building stuff , actually i dont like killing hostile mobs , i only do it when , they are attacking me , or i want there drops.
but having it for minecraft for the players ( who actually like all that stuff of combat in minecraft ) it should be added.
But the dungeon with 2+ mob spawners , sounds a lot like a mod i ´ve seen recently... i think is that with the Yeti in the tower , IDK...
but , it should be added ( probably ).
But notch should be a Hardcore programmer to do this. ( lets call Ken silverman LOL )
for the ones who dont know who is Ken silverman , well , he is the one who created the first terrain generation engine and a build engine used in popular games ( such as Duke Nukem 3d )I think notch didnt used his engine , he figured out himself , becuase i havent seen any credit to Ken Silverman so i think notch did it himself , but i am not sure anyways...
as a notheroption rather than all dungeons being a single room there could be say a 5% chance of a dungeon complex forming that has multiple rooms and spawners with bigger rewards and posibly even boss monsters
supped up versions of regular mobs or speceal ones that drop super rare stuff
like a seed for starting coco farms or apples or even posibley a apple tree sapling (the tree its self wouldnt beable to produce more apple tree saplings just apples)

I suggest that dungeons are given a new block type that takes 60 seconds to mine with a diamond pick (can ONLY be mined with diamond, other types won't do anything), and will not yield anything. This could be used to make the floors and walls, making it a good idea to search for an entrance from a surface point.
