Yes guys, I do realize that this has been suggested a million times before. But I believe I have a bit of a unique angle on the whole idea. Please hear me out.
For starters, potions would require a bottle to be made. You can make bottles by putting glass in a bucket-shape.
Once you have your bottle, you can make a potion using slime gel and mushrooms.
Instead of healing a set amount of health, these potions would provide the player with health regeneration, similar to that of peaceful mode. This would prevent them from being spam-able in times of danger, because the regeneration ability would not stack. Also, the high cost of a potion, material wise, would make them a valuable resource, to be used sparingly. This means that you could wolf down pork chops and bread in the heat of battle, and pop a potion once you’re done so as not to waste additional food.
Thank you for reading, and feel free to comment :smile.gif:

Iron + Coal = Steel! What part of that don't you people understand? IT ALREADY EXISTS!
Way to Terraria. :unsure.gif: You do know it's not called "Gel" in Minecraft, right?
Anyway, we have food for this. If the regen were quite limited, say it regens 0.5 hearts every few seconds, has a cap on the total it can heal, that kind of thing. Just as a major emergency ration if food can't be found, or if you're off on a trip to the Nether. Then...Maybe.
Yeah, maybe slime gel is to rare/terraria for it, but I wanted something rare enough to make potions a commodity. Since you can't eat glowstone, I wanted the potions to be made out of something organic. Suggestions?

Meh... nah... I think potions should be non-renewable. If you happen to be in a slime-rich spot and have a large mushroom farm, then potions would become daily rations.

yes, exactly like that. Moss, eh, probably not. Who would want to drink moss?
Isn't moss toxic? Then again, so are some mushrooms, so...
A Furnace
Porkchops
Fuel
No, like it uses items you have to go out to find more of. Like ores.
