An old 3ds is just as fast as a new one, actually, or within the same efficiency percentile. So saying unless there was systen damage, there'd only be a 1-2% drop in overall efficiency.
It is totally possible to get mc on the 3ds, the cost would be in dev time.

the 3ds does not matter on age wow thats new to me i have a ds light and now its starts to lag a little on games but its 7 years old. yes and the money factor lets face it mojang is trying to get the most money possible it would take some cash to get it on 3ds and if they can make a profit from it then ya but if they cant then well... sad face

thanks you taught me a lot of new things i never new. but i have to disagree with the age thing. my friend has a ps3 never used runs fine mine is 4 years old and played with over 3000hr ya i know its alot and it lags and freezes up. he aslo got it the same time i did.
but minecraft ps vita is coming out in the next year so i cant wait till that comes

Again, the more you use it, the more risk you have to corrupt segments of memory, etc. Again, the cell is far from a RISC processor.
The best way of describing it is like an octopus. It's one large core that runs 8 smaller cores. But issues could be attributed to a great deal of problems such as file fragmentation, segment corruption, etc. that eats away at performance. With a flash drive, the problem comes with the fact that storage has a maximum number of writes and rewrites. With that said, seeking for files from the hard drive, loading onto segfaulting memory and writing around the memory, dust clogging the fans and reducing cooling forcing the system to underperform to not explode; etc. cause major problems with performance.
If you friend hasn't used his console, then his system lacks all of those problems save dust.

its not for mojang to decide if wii u gets it 4j can i dont want to ruin your guys ideas for mc wii u but really is very unlikely there are a few reasons why.
1. mojang said they had a contract with microsoft and when it ended they thought of one more console to get minecraft on they chose the playsation
2. for the fans no xbox fan wanted minecraft on playsation i know lots of people hated on 4j but if wii u happened man they would get non-stop hate
3. sales they want the most sales possible the ps4 is going to beat wii u in sales this next year. aslo the wait time i dont want to wait 6-9 months for wii u gamers to get minecraft i want my updates.

Anyway, they might just keep it in java since changing to C++ would mess up a LOT. Mostly every mod would have to be re-made basically from scratch, but there would be a lot in the actual game to be changed. Not to mention how the console C++ versions aren't as up to date as PC is.
