I think that if minecraft is for the wii U, it should be for the wii classic, same thing with DS. Some people have older gaming systems.
They wont make it for the wii/ds because they have successors (Wii U/3DS) and because they have successors they will stop making games for those consoles. Same thing when the PS4 and Xbox 720 come out. But if you really wont to play minecraft on ds, check out this link:
What about wii u? Would it be possible to make minecraft 2 or minecraft U on wii u? Does the contract only apply to minecraft? Thanks
Jens Bergensten (Jeb):The reason I said that is that the Wii U hasn’t even been mentioned when we’re talking about Minecraft platforms. However, I’m only responsible for the PC and Pocket editions, so the question wasn’t mine to answer. The Wii U is no more likely than any other platforms, but no less either.

NOTE: this is just a copy of a thread I made a while ago I know this probably won't happen, though this is what I think the controls would be like.
Screens: The top screen is the screen with your game on it, where you see the world, and in the main menu, it shows a screenshot of the last world you left off on, like in the Aether mod. The bottom screen is the menus, the main menu, the pause menu, and when playing, it shows your inventory, making it the first edition where you can edit your inventory while placing blocks or moving around. You also see your health, armor points, experience, etc. on that screen. You would use the stylus to navigate through the menus.
L and R: When you hold down or press L, then you destroy what you are looking at, like left-click, When you place or hold R, it places down, or uses the item, like right-click.
Circle Pad: You can move around with these, maybe use these as a substitute for stylus in the menus.
A/B/X/Y: You look around with these, which would actually work quite well, because it feels the same as the d-pad, except not connected. You could also replace using these buttons with the second circle-pad addon.
Start: Start would open up the pause menu.
Select: Has to do with multiplayer, will explain it later in the thread.
D-pad: You would use this for some other things, holding up while walking forwards sprints, down would drop an item down, left and right cycles through what item your holding.
Multiplayer:
Open to wi-fi: This would be similar to opening to LAN in PC version, you would go in to the pause menu, and press open to multiplayer, and select what there gamemode is, and whether cheats are on or off.
Select button: When pressing select, it replaces the inventory screen with the multiplayer screen. In this, you can select your person view, so you can look at the behind view, and front view, and activate the F1, Screenshot, and Cinematic screen moving, and most of all, you can type in chat, and look in chat, and this is how you use commands. That is how the "allow cheats" comes in to point.
Realms: Just like in normal minecraft, you can open realms and host servers. It would act the exact same as Pocket Realms, except you can turn off the whitelist, and create actual servers
Resource Packs and Skins: Similar to MCXBLA, you can buy skin packs, though you can also buy resource packs. This would work along with the 3DS' DLC API. There would be resource packs that work with Zelda music, textures, a language pack, and a zelda skin pack, though that is just an example.
Well, that is my idea of Minecraft 3DE. It could be updated, since 3DS can download content, as seen with the DLC system, though it also has an update system, so it be updated, though the system cannot update cartridges, so it may be an Eshop only game, though it would also need a place to save your world files, so it may require SD cards, though maybe the cartridge version could store 3 worlds, then you need an SD card, while the eShop version requires a SD card from the start.
If you payed a bit more attention, you'd know that Microsoft bought exclusive rights to Minecraft, thus there will be no PS3/Wii/any other console system version of Minecraft.
MS did not buy the rights to MC, they signed a contract with Mojang. And contracts expire.

The psp has a homebrew app called "Lamecraft", its like Minecraft Pocket Edition, but it is called lamecraft. But something patched it. Someone redid this homebrew app, and it is now kinda possible to run Minecraft on a PSP.
Remember guys, they didn't buy, they signed a contract; be cause contracts and lawyers are absolutely free services!
Sarcasm doesn't help dude.
On topic though, I don't know if many people here know, but Nvidia is coming out with a game system called the Nvidia Shield. It's a portable game system. The Specs are below:
Processor: Nvidia Tegra 4 Quad Core Mobile Processor with 2GB RAM.
Display: 5 inch 1280x720 (294 ppi ) Multi-touch Retinal quality display.
Audio: Integrated stereo speakers with built in microphone.
Storage: 16GB Flash memory.
Wireless: WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS.
Connectivity: Mini-HDMI Output, Micro-USB 2.0, MicroSD Storage Slot, 3.5mm stereo headphone jack w/ microphone support.
Operating System: Android Jellybean OS (why can't they use version numbers instead of the names of deserts, candy, or fruits).
Software: Google Play, TegraZone, Hulu Plus, Twitch TV
It essentially looks like an xbox360 controller with a mounted touch sensitive LCD display. It's actually a pretty cool system. It would actually be a good platform for the PC version of Minecraft.

I'm just gonna give my personal opinion, but if the Wii U sales boom this holiday season, Minecraft could have a spot on the Wii U eShop. It would probably look a little something like this: 4J could make this one of the best versions of minecraft out there if they play their cards right, like making the inventory the gamepad screen and have off screen play, along with the gyro controls in the video. So here's an idea. Do you know how Disney Infinity has those little figures for characters? Resource packs/Maybe Mods could work the same way. So let's say that you have a Wii U and Minecraft and you want to get a texture pack. Let's go with the Sphax PureBDCraft resource pack. So you go over to your local retailer and they have a Sphax version of a grass block or something like that. you buy it for around $5-$10ish dollors. You could buy that, take it home, and put it on the NFC (Near Field Communications, or that rectangle on the bottem left of the gamepad scanner) and that would turn on the resource pack. This could work with mods and possibly modpacks, but it would be easier to just download those mods for a few bucks, and now that I think about it, that could be the case with resource packs too. Just sayin, that could happen. But what about a 3DS version? Extremely unlikely, and the game would kill the system in seconds due to the amount of memory the system has. Unless it was EXTREMELY well optimised, "Minecraft 3D" will never happen. Maybe on the next Nintendo handheld they can do that. If Minecraft is still going by that time, which it most likely will not due to Nintendo's track record with realeasing new handhelds. By the time the next DS or whatever rolls around, Half life 3 would have been out for a few years by that point. XD

100% support for PS Vita
The system isn't quite powerful enough to muscle it (it has half the ram of the PS3).
EDITED OP: Discuss XB One and PS4 variants as well :D.

I also updated my personal treatise on the concepts. As a request, if anyone sees a console thread, refer OP here to keep things easily managed.
