in my eyes Mojang should not actually work on any other console, but rather allow usage to the DIRECT manufacturers of the systems to use it (For $$$$ though) This way no9t only does Mojang keep its PC version better than ever, but the people who made the systems can worry about the programming and stuff. I would LOVE minecraft on my PS3, but ONLY if i can use my6 account from here and get it for free (As i already bought it) But yeah, as i stated above, just let them sell the name to, for example, Sony. They would then work, and produce it on their system(s), depending on the deal. Now, the company that buys it would have to make it to a standard of Mojang, making sure it is a copy of a version of their choice.
That's not exactly how contracts work. None of the three console makers are going to be stupid enough to buy a name and have to do the programming, and Mojang wouldn't be stupid enough to sell their name. The former because coding a game to be a replica of a top-notch (excuse the pun) game without actually viewing any of the real code is like trying to remake Avatar (the lame blue monkeys one or the Air Bender one based on the anime, either one works for this analogy) in your garage; it's just too damn hard and the community is going to be so freaking picky. And the latter because a hell of a lot of power is in a name. Worded correctly, a contract could suck the income right out of Mojang's pockets just because of the name. You remember the Scrolls lawsuit? Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft are going to be at least five times as persistent in that if it ever came to that. And if Mojang sold naming rights, it definitely will come to that, because people are those kinds of greedy, self-centered brats.
Honestly? I don't know crap about how contracts like that work that well either, and all that was only an assumption. But I do know that it's not going to work the way you described, in one way or another, it's just a bad idea.

Hello People, here's what I think minecraft on the 3ds would be like. It is fairly similar to Kid Icarus: Uprising on the 3ds.
Circle pad to move around, left handed people could get the circle pad plus, or just use the a, b, x, and y buttons, so they can control the camera with the stylus. The camera would be controlled, as I said before, with the stylus, pretty mush the same as the Kid Icarus: Uprising controls. In order to select which item on the hotbar to be using, there would be a bar at the bottom of the touch screen, like the powers selection on K I (Kid Icarus: Uprising) The left button would be used like the left mouse button, placing and destroying blocks. The right button would be used like the right mouse button. The sneak button and Inventory pen button would be either on the bottom of the touch screen, on either side, or on the top, on either side. All of the buttons on the touch screen would be movable (moving from top of the touch screen to the bottom). And all of the conrols would be customizable.
Mojang signed a contract with Microsoft. So it can be only with Microsoft. ( Correct me if im wrong)
Also, there's a thread for this somewhere. (Console discussion Megathread or something like that.) Exclusive deal means no PS3 Minecraft, even if I feel it was terrible idea. If Minecraft was going to be on consoles, it should of been a multi-platform game. Screw Microsoft and their exclusivity BS. Then again, I'd imagine Sony would of tried the same thing. Anyhow, had their been no such deal, I think it should of been PS3, 360, and maybe the Wii U. (Supposedly, it's actually more powerful any of than the current gen systems.) I can care less if it was exclusive to my console (the PS3) or not. I just want Minecraft to get as much fanfare as possible.

"I don't plan to add a new dimension at the moment. It's just to performance heavy on servers, and the current dimensions need more attention before we start adding new ones." < Yeah, like biomes or actual varied terrain in the nether. Nether ruins didn't do the trick at all.
Let's face it, not all of us have an XBOX 360, and not all of us can afford to get one. People have PS3's so Mojang should make a PS3 version of Minecraft. This is just a short topic to be made into a list of of PS3 players who want Minecraft for PS3. If you agree simply post "Yes". Thanks for reading.
The PS3 isn't that good IMO. Also the XBOX 360 costs WAAAAY less than the PS3 (4GB RAM XBOX costs only $200 while PS3 costs around $300). Also IMO the controllers on the XBOX are much better than the PS3. On my PS3 controller, the analog sticks have a tendency to get stuck (like if I pulled backwards, it would stay backwards and the character in the game would move backwards and etc. etc.) And the PS3 internet isn't all that great concerning that it's free. When I played CoD on the PS3, I would have trouble cause it would randomly d/c much more than the XBOX, so multiplayer on it wouldn't be that great. Also another good feature on the Xbox is the ability to change your gamertag which you can't do on the PS3. And the XBOX has greater Arcade titles (IMO). ANYONE UP FOR SOME IKARUGA?

Some points taken there but it still doesn't matter. The worst that happens to me is a controller getting stuck. PS3 should still get MC.
They CAN'T make a Ps3 version simply because they signed an agreement with Microsoft. If they did make one they would be breaking the contract and ending up in legal trouble. So there just isn't going to be a Ps3 version,

First of all how do you think games get on PS3 AND XBOX. It's competition. For all MIcrosoft cares they can simply allow it and let themselves beat PS3. Don't make it seem like a fail without thinking. Especially you FishScream.
Competition or not Xbox won't just let them release it for Ps3. It is better to exclude them entirely then it is to even get a chance. What is the point of making things more difficult for yourself?

They also make much more money being only for XBOX I think, I really dont see why they should change that, and to be honest, I have no problem with a PS3 version, just my chances of buying it are very low because I already have the same Minecraft for PC, if not newer.
I think it should. Competition is one of the obstacles in the development of the PS3 version though. Microsoft will stop at nothing to not let a PS3 Version come through, so odds of a PS3 Version, very low.

2: its a good idea, just not likely to happen.

NO BAD COMMENTS!

I have a PS3, and you know why I dont care?
Because I have the PC version. Try it.

Finally someone who gets it.

it probably wont though because fox is right they DID sign an agreement and it was partially developed by microsoft studios
