I have started this because I am sick and tired of seeing four threads related to consoles on the first page.
This megathread will link back to the gigathread for ease of browsing.
Instead of giving good honest reasons why console MC would not work on the various systems, I encourage everyone to post their own respective opinions here.
I will begin with a few personal beliefs. I actively encourage others to counter this or posit their own views on this idea.
MC ported period
In my personal view, MC will be difficult to port toward any system due to the overhead involved with Java. It would require the removal of the yoke of Java to get MC by using C++ or C# to get the system implementable toward any system.
The game would require complete redesign of features and playability on a new system. This would completely halt gameplay improvements, bugfixes, content updates, and other features in the meantime.
This would work arguably worse than a PC/mac/linux configuration.
MC on Wii U http://www.minecraft...epts-and-ideas/ has one of the best seen suggestions on these forums. It isn't a console war, don't bring one up, but to have a lively discussion about Minecraft's future, Hopper200456 has done a hell of a presentation and it's worth a look.
*UPDATE* Has been locked, I will keep the link there as it's one of the best described treatises on how a suggestion, let alone a console suggestion is to be done.
MC on 3DS
The 3DS has the bare minimum requirements to run MC should the MC be optimized out. It is highly suspect, as the worlds generated would hardly be considered indef, even considering current standards.
Legacy Devices/Consoles go here.
PSP - The PSP would not work.
DS - The DS simply isn't strong enough.
Wii - The Wii, as a system, is not powerful enough through either the system processor nor is it powerful enough through it's GPU to render MC in any playable system. The ram is also below par, simply a no go.
Good luck with that. You think anybody here reads?

I don't see why you are worrying about how the console minecrafts turns out. I would be worrying more about how it would be affecting the computer minecraft. But even then, it isn't going to make the game worse, it might even get better. There will be a bigger audience, more money for them, and minecraft will probably progress even faster. BUT, I am getting doubts about the console minecrafts. It isn't going to be a disc, it will be a Xbox Live download. If you have experience on downloading games straight from a Xbox, you know what I'm talking about. It's never going to be as good as a game from a disc. Downloads on a computer are definately just as good as discs, but it just isn't so on the Xbox or any other console.
Well, the game going to consoles would bring in more money so it isn't a bad thing. I saw someone bring up a good point about being worried that minecraft would get nerfed to work on consoles.
Also, shouldn't this be in the discussion thread not suggestion.

I'm not worried as much about that as I am about the amount of spam that's created on this forum. A console implementation would be nice if possible.
Also, installing from a disk is no different than installing from download. Perhaps the disk installs faster; but it is in no way better.

This is actually a suggestion megathread, so yes, it does belong here.
I hate to be doing this, but if you see another thread about consoles and feel lazy, please Reply by Copying and pasting this Message
I am sorry to say, that I have to report this thread, since you did not read the rules or since you did not search, please if you want to voice your opinion, post it on this topic

The Post that I am reporting right now, has to do with MC being ported to the console, and it has not been posted in yoshi9048's console megathread, therefore I request a locking and or deletion of this thread
Kinect For Minecraft On Console Just suggesting what everyone has already done, if this is already being developped, then ignore this (I haven't read anywhere that says it officially is)
Being able to play with Kinect
Ability To Create Servers I don't know if this is possible, but maybe, being able to create servers for Minecraft On The Xbox the same way, or maybe even having the possibility for people playing Minecraft on the Xbox to play on Minecraft Servers on the PC, and vise versa, it would be really fun
Dinamic Building/Destroying Sort of a "Remake" Of How Breaking Blocks work, but every time you hit a block, it goes to it's 1st destroyed rate, until it breaks, and if not hit after 5 Seconds, will return back to normal
Kinect Only Servers Now I suggested all of those, simply to suggest this
Having the ability to include or exclude people that don't have what you want on a server, saying to exclude everyone who doesn't have Kinect on the server, and if something like Dynamic Building/Destroying was implemented, then it would really be an experience to play it
Actually, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have the ability to make servers on xbox live, but in a way it would suck because they all would have the same limit unless you can link your xbox to your computer to host. I don't know if that is possible.

No need for that. If you must report, the mods request that you not state you are reporting and only do so.
There is good reason for this: stating you are reporting their message only starts a tattle-tale war, creates/furthers animosity, and makes you seem the aggressor. It is imperative to simply report as concisely as possible; don't even bother to post, and move on. This helps you avoid getting warned as a member of the crossfire.
Second, there is no rule that states they have to post their console suggestion in this thread. I am no god/mod/admin and am nowhere near better than anyone else, it would only help streamline the board and improve the forum for them to do so instead of pissing away bandwidth on a new thread.
I like this thread. I would clean up the description and the OP a bit, then send a PM to SpitefulFox on this. Even if we don't get this stickied, having a moderator agree that this should be the ONE console thread would make reporting go faster and generally keep this at the first page longer.

Profanity, though caustic and unappealing, draws attention to the material. I will agree that the severity needs to be toned down, but my personal problem comes to "how much?" Like, how much should we tone the material down? Will it lose the shock value I intended for it to have?
Well I think the big thing is anything profane. You may not have a problem with it, and I certainly don't. But in the ende it barely adds shock value. The picture and the number hilighted in red should suffice.

On the topic of making this thread a stickied megathread...
I dislike the idea. That would set a horrible precedent. If this thread becomes stickied, Kira's weapon megathread, Ygdrasel's wolf megathread, and tmj's map megathread would also need to be stickied. This is not to mention the various other megathreads that can be formed in the future. I personally don't want 1/2 the first page crowded out with megathreads.
What I DO recommend (SpitefulFox, this is a good thing to point out toward you) is to make a sticky pointing directly toward these megathreads.)
