This is a gravity-obeying block like sand or gravel, but when water is flowing above or below it, it will float to the top. Other gravity-obeying blocks can be placed on it and it will still float. This is useful for building elevators, and also buildings on or above the sea without having to connect it to land.
There should be a way to craft pumice stone blocks so you don't have to start a whole new map to get it.

Makes me think of the big pumice fireplace at my parents' house. I'd be tempted to make some kind of elaborate house out of this that would rise up out of the sand on command and then sink back down again. Just like FF6...yeah.....

I don't care if it's the cork wood idea, my raft block idea, or this... I just want a a floating block.
also how would this work exactly? You place it on the block below you while underwater? kinda weird.
I wish I was in this :C
A realistic way to obtain:
Water + Lava Source = Obsidian
Lava + Water Source = Pumice.
That's how it works in real life.
Can you exfoliate with cork wood? No.
