Alright, well earlier today I was screwing around in my house's incinerator. It has a one block depth. I shot an arrow into the side of it, and the arrow caught on fire. I wasn't too surprised with that, but I could still pick the arrow up. I decided to do some tests. Outside my house, I made a small lava wall. I figured, I could shoot flaming arrows through it, catch things on fire, kill mobs, etc. So, I wanted to test if these flaming arrows could even do any of that, so I set a wooden block up behind my lava wall, and shot an arrow at it. The arrow caught on fire (As expected), then stuck in the wooden block, which did not catch on fire :sad.gif:
My suggestion is, that these flaming arrows would be able to catch blocks/mobs on fire, or something similar to that.
Well, I don't really look at it as useless, sure it may seem useless on the surface, but if you dig around, you could realize a world of possibilities.
Maybe we should be able to make a brazier? We right click it with arrows, and then they turn into fire arrows. Fire arrows can't be retrieved, and they vanish (or become charcoal) after being in the inventory for two minutes, so people won't just walk around with a lot of fire arrows instead of normal arrows.
Braziers would also serve a decorative purpose.
