this was orginaly a mod suggestion so it'll be there too i'll only check this one now on. (i only just saw the suggestions for vinilla)
while its raining if your outside (getting rained on) then a Cold bar appears, and it goes down (a little bit slower then breath) and then you take damage like water when its empty. if you get under shelter the bar will stay there until it is full slowly going back up (twice as slow as heath goes up on peaceful for a guide) (just because no-one gets warm instantly). if you have armor on then it goes at different speeds; = x2 = x1.5 = x1.5 = slower x2 ( = leather (how many times have you read that)
if your out of rain and within 10 squares of a fire (fire not torch if you can) then your bar goes up x2 speed getting closer it goes faster. while taking damage from cold if you have armor it takes damage (duno if it does that anyway(from rust or something idk it seems logical)
soup adds to the bar.

snow does the same but the bar goes down faster and armor effects it more (maybe by .5 so leather is 1.5 slower rather then 2).
If anyone can do this that would be awesome. dont know if you can do this or not because i dont know how it figures out if your under shelter or not (glass isn't shelter)
Not a fan. I still really want hypothermia in taiga and tundra biomes though.
Maybe if it happened slowly. Considerably slower than bubbles of air while underwater. Could even have fire warm the player up, give a nice incentive to stop and build a quick campfire during rain.
Whenever I'm out in the rain, I don't have to constantly run under awnings in order not to freeze to death. Snow is a different story, but deadly rain is kind of ****.
Also, it should be really slow.

I don't know sled teams but I do know I put my dog on an electric treadmill once and dangled a chicken leg. Treadmill puppy ensued.
I was thinking about this, but perhaps not with rain. Maybe just being in a snow biome? If you think about it, Steve can survive being on fire for about 20 seconds, that should say something about his endurance. I was also thinking about the opposite to this, which would be heat, in a desert biome. This was just a rough thought, since I'm sure it would make having spawned in a desert or taiga biome extremely annoying.

Once upon a time, there was this creeper, and he met a miner while he was walki--SSSSBOOM!--never mind.....
the heat desert ideas cool. yea i just copy pasted the link from when i made it in the mods part and the was a while ago. just in snow would be better. begining to hate rain now (wasn't so bad before ii didn't see it as much).
anything to say bout the armor ideas making you freeze faster? leather slower??
in the desert heat idea maybe switch it around so metal armors make it take longer to die leather faster. thoughts???

if the game stops being fun, then doesn't it actually become work?
