So I like to build secrets into my bases, secret passages or such. I would love to see a door that slides to the left/right depending on which you're facing when you place it. Like normal doors. It would be 2 blocks high and 4 blocks wide because it would have to slide into a base. For instance a bookshelf door. I'm not sure how it would be crafted but it could be activated via redstone or via buttons, levers, pressure plates or maybe manually. Please feel free to comment whether you think it's a good idea or not. Open to suggestions/corrections!
The pistons on the left (when powered) slide the sand into the (blocked off) space on the right. To shut the door, the other pistons slide the sand back into place.

If there ever was a remote possibility that I would open Minecraft and see rocket ships and lightsabers, I'd much sooner take up alcoholism.

Search. It was everyone else's idea first, and it sucked every time.
That's the idea yes. Thank you. Though it would be great if in a future minecraft update the doors would just naturally slide or something. Kind of like a wall closing in a TV show like scooby doo(I know it's an old show/kids show only reference I had though.)

A pressure plate and two pistons could emulate that, I think.

The mod for it? Would you please elaborate?

I'm experimenting right now with the sticky pistons. Thank you for showing me this.
