So here are some ideas I have for items that don't have any uses, and items that could use tweaking. A lot of these things I am unsure of changing, because it could ruin the idea and gameplay of minecraft, but hey, a suggestion can't hurt right? But here it is:
-A depth meter
- I know notch wanted to find uses for green slime balls, so maybe he could use the green slime balls to put in the middle of the 3X3 square with iron around it to tell you how many blocks from bedrock you are
-Green slime balls could be a very dangerous weapon, or one that could be extremely helpful. It is rather rare, so might as well make it useful. It could either be used to make poison weapons/arrows, or maybe it could have a paralyzing function
-Packaging items
-This is what I am unsure about because it may make things a bit too easy. We all know how much it sucks that you can't hold too many tools at once since they aren't stackable (at least I feel this way) So what if you were able to package them? My idea is that any tool that is unused, can be put into a 64 maximum package. So let's say that you have 64 iron hatchets, they are all stacked as one. If you want to use one, just take one out (Maybe hit shift click or something) then once you use it a single time, you are not allowed to put it back into the package again. Basically just an idea to save inventory and storage space
-Iron trapdoors (probably bound to happen eventually)
-Colored redstone
-Redstone logic can be such a pain. so lets say you have a few redstone wires that you want to activate too different things, you need to put one a block lower or something in order for them not to connect. However, if you were able to add a color to them, then that wouldnt be a problem. They would only be able to connect to a redstone the same color as another. (Blue can only connect to blue, green can only connect to green etc) Can be done by just simply using a colored dye, even just making two different colored redstone can make a difference
That's all I have so far. Let me know what you think, FEEDBACK IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!! :biggrin.gif:
I came up with another good idea for the slime balls. Maybe if you place a ball on the ground it would make a spot of slime on the ground and if you walked over it, it would make you run doubling your speed, and would be very time efficient if you were traveling long distances.

Yeah I was thinking that too, but I feel like there can't be too many uses for slimeballs, it's like gunpowder, I think that they should really have one specific purpose, and that one could be made another way, like making normal shoes and putting it in the middle of a 3X3 and then putting a feather on each side. I'm just rambling now, but it shouldn't have too much usage is what i'm saying
another good idea would be a torch of some kind that you can carry around. much like the torches you can mount but instead this would be like a lantern you can carry around and light your way.

Yeah that would be cool too, it would be helpful with the exploring aspect of the game

Maybe the torch is 1.5 or 2 x the brightness of a normal torch.

As for the depth meter, been playing terraria eh'?
Lol, I have a mac and they don't have terraria :sad.gif: But that's funny, I didn't even know they had it :/ I guess i accidentally ripped them off :/

Yeah, or night vision or something, maybe if you select a torch, like have it in your hand, it can create light
