You know what'll be cool, Ships in minecraft! i admit, this isnt very original as this idea came to me while watching pirates of the caribbean while playing minecraft. Presently, we have little dingys, which are very unglam and are very slow.
large ships would be really cool, like with the sails and all, and we can walk around onboard. this would be especially fun in multiplayer, or exploring alone in single player. now that we have dogs, we could take them along on our maritime adventures too!(even if they would teleport to us in the end)
The sail boats could be faster than dingys, and resist more beating. as it is made of wood, could also be flamable. it doesnt have to be humongous like those megabuilds on youtube, but larger than a 2x2. i was thinking, mabye 3 block wide and 5 block long, or 5 block wide by 7 block long by 1(or 2) blocks deep would be good, with a sail in the middle. on board, there could be a steering wheel to steer, and mabye some extra space for, i dont know, some extra passengers, dogs or a bed or chest or something
Mabye it could be crafted using lether, and using more boats for crafting the main body.
Feather=leather
wood = boat
A second idea i want to suggest is wind, along with the weather. with the wind, the sail boat would be more balanced, because i am thinking that travelling with the wind would increase speed, while travelling against it would create a not significant, but noticable decrease in speed.
Also, rain would slowly collect on board, make the boat slow down, and eventually, i dont know, sink(get destroyed, like a damaged dingy) i guess? we have to bucket the water out of the sail boat for it to be repaired.
Well, thats it for my suggestion. i hope you guys like the idea, and mabye suggest improvements for it. As for the many, many critics on this forum, please....be....merciful......
Please, there is mods about this and notch already know about thinking about this.
I'm not sure about that, because i have been searching the suggestions forums, and all i could find was a lame post about gigantic being added, without deeper thought involved in how it would be useful and stuff. :dry.gif:
