Would it be possible to create a block that would work as a mobile platform for moving other blocks in real-time 3D?
See, if we could make, say, a boat that had four buildable blocks attached to the mobile frame, wouldn't we be able to make massive ships that could actually be sailed across waters? This would be uber-coolness. Perhaps there could be one for land, see, and air each. "Engine" blocks that would allow for creative, mobile crafts.
Airships...
Awesome.

These, I've seen. What I mean is creating a block that works like a mobile platform with connecting blocks attached to it that allow you to build off of the mobile block itself. So far, I don't think it's possible to make the standard Minecraft building blocks (earth, sand, wood, stone, etc.) move around in 3D. Only special polygons, like the ones used for animals, boats, mobs, and your own character can move.
What got me thinking was the use of the stove and chest blocks for the minecarts. Those two blocks, however, cannot be stacked or built upon.
I think this would be quite an undertaking, as somehow the program would need to be able to differentiate between "static" blocks that were attached to other stationary blocks, and "mobile" blocks that were attached to other mobile blocks that all ultimately connected to an "engine" block that would be the focal point for moving the entire attached structure.
I will only mention the difficulty of making the program recognize moving blocks dragging along, say, the ground...especially if it were travelling along a surface of static blocks of the same type.
It would just be really cool. That's all.

This is a set of blocks that, if implemented, could revolutionize minecraft buildings and vehicles. There is a block sort of like this floating around on the Mod Ideas forum, but it doesn't work for water and can't move.
Problem is, I'm not sure how one would begin to code this... But it's definetly needed.
No planes. Blimbs are better. They should make a blimp ballon that you could build a custom ship attached to it with a seat you could create. Then control to fly over minecraft :tongue.gif:
