I'm not sure if this has been suggested, but i thought of this whilst building a minecart tour of my Minecraft server. The tour is a large circle around the server, and i thought i would be awesome if i could make it so my friends and i all have an entry to the circle, so we all have a faster way of traveling. But then i realised that you cannot merge 2 minecart tracks into one, like they do at train stations in real life.
If you still don't quite understand what i am saying, this track should be shaped like a Y, where the trunk, or base of the Y is the tour track, and one of the branches of the Y is the main tour track, the circle, and the other branch is the track coming from my house, merging into the circle.
Just like my tain sets i had when i was a child, there should be a switch next to the track, to determine which track is merging into the truck.
These tracks could also be used backwards, so one track can lead into many, depending on which switches are on, and which are off.
you can actually do this with normal minecart tracks and redstone...
If you charge a track with redstone, it switches the direction it is facing, so this is possible, although it can be difficult to do if you have a three way intersection. And by difficult I mean freaking impossible.

Thankyou and I hope notch reads this.

Tracks can enter from the lower track, but will not enter the track again!
I don't know how stupid some people are becoming...
