I have had a few ideas about what the future uses of slimeballs could be. Slimeballs are currently dropped by small slime, and have no use (although a future uses have been promised).
1) My first idea. 8 slimeballs placed in a square, in the same formation as a stove or a chest, with one peice of red stone in the middle. This will re-animate a slime, which will act as a pet. It can be controlled in the same way as a wolf.
2)My second idea. 6 pieces of slime in a trapdoor formation. This ill create a slime mat. It will be the same size as a half-block but will look like slime. If you stand on it and jump, you will fly very high. Falling damage will still occur (unless you land in water, or on another slime mat which will cause you to continue bouncing)
I think slime mats should also be found naturally in slime infested caves, but should only drop slime balls when destroyed.
I like the idea. I'm not too sure about them being found naturally in caves because they are very annoying! Sometimes they won't ever die and just keep making that noise! D:
Small slimes act as pets , but really anoying pets , they go really slow , and if you want to keep them following you will hace to slow down...
Probably if that slime you can craft , that will follow you similar to the wolves , it will be a good idea , also changing it colour.
But , i think it should not attack other mobs ( only if it is a big or huge slime , because if you see normal or small slimes , they dont see like the kind of creature that will take down a skeleton )
Probably it should be like this
8 Slimeballs in the formation of a chest + 1 redstone in center = Small Slime
16 Slimesballs in the formation of a chest ( 2 per square ) + 1 redstone in center = normal slime
24 Slimesballs in the formation of a chest ( 3 per square ) + 1 redstone in center = big slime
32 slimes in the...... + 1 redstone.... = Huge Slime

You can't do that. It's impossible to have a recipe with 2 items in the same spot. I think to grow slimes, you should have to feed them slimeballs. Giving them one will heal them, many will grow them.
What about a slime cake :biggrin.gif:
haha no, just kidding. But a slime pet? Sounds funny but;
A dog got 3 things:
1. A belt, so you can see it belongs to somebody
2. A tail, so you can see if he's hurt/ need food
3. He can sit and walk.
How would you do that with slime?
1. a red belt aroud his belly / a mini redstone storce out of his head?
2. Face /happy/unhappy
3. ???
:smile.gif:
1. It could get an antennae
2. It could change colour (diff shades of green)
3. Turns into a puddle when right clicked.

Small slime try to push you into lava or off high ledges. Mabey they should do low, slow damage AND push their victim.
As stated in another post, your sugestion (though a good one ) wouldn't work.
