Many people hav built or are building structures made of wood or material that can be destroyed by fire. Well a solution to that is that slimeballs or water tipped arrows. As slimeballs have no use at the moment and there might be one this should be it. You can launch the slimeballs like snowballs at fire at put it out. Water tipped arrows can also work by shooting them into fire and putting it out. the crafting for water tipped arrows is bucket of water on top of an arrow =bucket of water,
I think Notch partly fixed this in 1.6 so that the whole thing won't burn down. But seriously, water-tipped arrows?
That doesn't make any sense. And the slimeballs, say there were 64 blocks of fire, would you need 64 slimeballs?
1) Water tipped arrows do actually exist. They were a blunt arrow with a heavily soaked rag wrapped around the tip. They were used to put out torches during more "political" movements.
2) Slimballs could cover a an area of 4x4 blocks or something. That would severely cut down on the needed number. Or perhaps a formula of 1 slimeball + 10 blocks = fire retardant wood planks.
I disagree with water arrows. It means more arrows to craft and eventually so many different arrows. If water arrows got implemented then next up would be fire and so on. Not a bad thing but it is just too much. But I'm not all for stopping it. I dunno.
Slime balls. Like bones into bone meal.
Slime crafted alone becomes I dunno something. But get multiple for crafting it. And each one puts out fire when thrown at fire. Has to hit the fire. Instead of the 4 X 4 area thing or similar this way seems more Mine Craft like and sounds better.

Ys -Crying- Why! Why must Sarah die! Why! At least there is still Feena and Reah to guide Adol through his Journey. But... Sarah got turned to stone... That is just plain cruel. Stupid Monsters.
It semms logicall to use a buket to make wather arow, but thats to expensive, use woll insdeed, like the "heavily soaked rag wrapped around the tip" Kaldarus told us about. When no rag is craftable i suggest woll, or meaby use the sponge suggested in oceancraft, they absorb watter. But woll seems resonable and not to expensive.
But my strategy to avoid house burning down, I bild it of cobblestone or smothstone.
but there are alot of people that like building villages and village homes

This. Also, recent scientific studies have shown that water prooves rather well at extinguising flames.
y tank u gud sur
No need to apologize, it's not a commonly known fact
