A underground civilization might not be bad but the way you presented it makes it just sound like a rip off of gears of war. I would much rather have underground cities generate that were abandoned.

That was intentional.
I was stating an underground civilization in a popular game and I thought, maybe a similar civilization Notch made would be fun.

Building in minecraft from the dark seas to the wide open skies.
I was also thinking of something like the Rift worm that itself makes massive caves and destroys blocks.
If enabled, it can actually sink your house.
Umm... most blocks don't fall... so tunneling shouldn't sink your house. Also, creepers don't carve out large sections of the map, wasting ores in the process.
You are fully aware that this would take over half a year to do, right? You are also aware that this can't actually work the way you want it to as well, right? There are certain limitations to minecraft that would prevent this from working. Even if it did, it would take FOREVER to make a decent AI for these things, unless they live in pre built tunnels... which would be quickly destroyed by the worms.
I like the idea of a sentient race that lives underground. The Minecraft dev team has been considering civilized mobs, like normal pigmen (non-zombified) that live in little villages. I think an underground race would be awesome. Not sure about the worm idea, though. But don't listen to Itwasthatguy; it wouldn't take a half year. More like a third of a year :biggrin.gif:

What if minecraft had a civilization like the Locust that live underground.
They would fight humans, creepers, zombies, spiders, and skeletons.
I would think they would be interesting.
And, they could control worms that make massive tunnels in minecraft.
They could even "sink" land. :biggrin.gif:
What do you guys think?
This is Notch's game.
There is nothing wrong with looking at ideas from other games for inspiration. Look at all the minecraft copies.
But a race of underground diggers would be interesting.
That was intentional.

Creepers do.

If enabled, it can actually sink your house.
Without explosions.

In short, bad idea, not happening.
YUM YUM YUM!
