You know how people say they want obsidian armor? You know how they say it's already been suggested? Well, read this.
What if...
1. not only do you have to gather obsidian, you have to make an obsidian presser to make it
2. you put obsidian into the presser with a bucket of lava, and you get magma obsidian
3. you put it on, and you are immune to lava and explosions (lava for a short time only, though)
4. the armor still loses durability, just it doesn't hurt you
5. you can also make press it with water
6. the water presser lets you go into lava, and whatever lava block you step on turns to obsidian
7. If you make a lava-obsidian boot, and walk on water, it turns to obsidian too
8. the more liquid you press into it, the stronger it become against liquid- it just can't be 100% reduced
9. It would be called the "Magma Helmet/chestplate/leggings/boots"
10. POWN EVERYONE WITH IT :biggrin.gif:
And I did search, it's just that the new forum has me confused, so if this is posted already, sorry! (I know obsidian armor has been posted, but I added more stuff to it)
Also, because obsidian is farmable and extremely abundant, there is no way it could become a tool tier in it's self. Maybe an ore that has a small chance of spawning when obsidian is created (in fact, that's my theory on what the crying obsidian was), but otherwise, no.
#4 Involves a new coding to the armor system, but the rest is okay... the only problem is the pressers only have one use. They should have more.
Well, it saying they add stuff together, so you could have a bucket of water and lava and put them in it, and make obsidian, not having to dig a hole and add them together. It also decompresses stuff, so say you accidentally make a second tool, and it's not used yet, you could put it in and it would decompress to the tools you used.

That makes this be less linear, and I would love to use this for wood tools once I get cobble stone.
You can also decompress armor if it's not damaged at all (say you have iron armor and you find an abundant amount of diamonds, so you want diamond armor, and still need buckets of stuff, and you don't have any iron left)

I don't use mods.

Then I guess you won't have obsidian tools.
This.

I siad obsidian stuff meaning armor and tools.

decompress = un-craft?
Yeah.
