instead of just getting rid of boosters all togeather. just make it so you have to use powered minecarts, and limit the max horizontal velocity they can add to one another. it's not like the minecarts fly verry far anyway, and eliminating them all togeather will turn something fun into something tedious.

powered rails suck for hills anyway.
They are gone and never coming back. It is time to accept this.

i can do a powered rail every 14 blocks, and maintain the max speed, but on a hill it's a minimum of every 4. then it feels like it's crawling.
Yeah you need to have the whole ramp be power rails to get it up a hill in a timely manner. It's just how it goes now. Glitch boosters where a lil OP those things could launch you right up a hill.
I think peoples gripes about power rails is that they are not as good as the glitch boosters.
Power rails are great but they have been set to a more reasonable speed.
Unlike booster's, poweredrails can go straight up the hill and power you while are going up. With a booster you had to make a flat area and then keep going up. here you can just continue.
BOOSTER: TRACK : POWEREDRAILS:
OLD
NEW
actually you could run boosters on a diagonal and they worked just fine... you only needed the flat surface as a return area for your booster cart.
But I like the new tracks except they should treat other carts like occupied carts. With reliable starting and stopping mechanisms there is no longer a need to have the carts move slower when unoccupied.
Of course that would eliminate the need for a powered minecart... which does not work well with booster tracks btw.
Some tweaking needs to be done but I don't think boosters are the answer.
Perhaps giving powered minecarts the ability to push more carts would help and make it be the only one that receives the ability to boost like an occupied cart but only when it is under power.

Don't fear the creeper, yeah he's in your mine
Don't fear the creeper, happens all the time, don't fear the creeper

the reasonable speed you refer to is also a CONSTANT speed, tweaked for multi-player so other players don't see a kart fly by, and 3 seconds later captain lag-pants flying along on his imaginary kart after it!
CANT NOTCH: simply set the boost capacity of powered rail on a slope to be greater than one lying flat? solving the problem?
there are problems with the powered carts & regular as well the anti-booster patch made it so they will pass thru other carts sometimes. it's great for multiplayer 2 carts can pass in opposite directions without stopping, but only occasionaly.
if the booster thing worked with powered carts it would make them useful, and they wouldn't need the patch that makes them buggy as well.

Use the engine cart (minecart + furnace) to go uphill.
Or you could tunnel through the hill.
Then again that's not a valid option for Miner Coaster builders but for the sake of transportation you can tunnel through the hill.

hopefuly it will end up like Onimusha Warlords, and someone will mod it back in, and make it better.

Well I make powered rails every two so that's why I don't mind.
