When I first made a map, I have to admit that the first thing I did was map the entire area, but then a thought struck me.
“I want to use this to decorate my place.”
So, what if we could craft a painting with a map?
It would only show what the map did, and would not be able to update (although, it could be possible to pop the map out to update it)
And, building on that idea, when placing several map-paintings next to each other, they could merge, making it possible to have a real grand picture of the local map.

Yeah, thats a good idea, although I already heard it from notch...but notch, if you see this the crafting recipe DEFINANTLY should be a painting and a map (already mapped out)
