This is a single idea that has 3 different routes you can take:
Unfused Bomb
Fused Bomb
Drop Bomb
Lets start with the base item, the Unfused Bomb.
This item uses one TNT block surrounded by Iron Ingots. The Unfused Bomb is one and 1/4 blocks high and does more damage than a regular TNT block. The blast and damage radius is similar to that of a Charged Creeper and it takes about 2 seconds longer to explode when ignited... However, the best feature I think about this block is that it CAN BE MINED!
That's right, if you misplace this block you CAN mine it to pick it back up... However, there is a drawback for being able to pick it up. You can only ignite it with a Redstone circuitry/ levers/ buttons/ etc. Now that doesn't seem to bad with all the perks, but what if you can't get to Redstone and you are itching to use a Bomb...
Well that takes us to the second item, the Fused Bomb.
Just like the Unfused Bomb, the Fused Bomb has radius and damage stats similar to a Charged Creeper, can be mined and picked up... However, you can only ignite it with Flint and Steel. (Hence the 'fused' part) But just like regular TNT, if an adjacent block is on fire and spreads to the Fused Bomb, it will go off... So be careful when using.
And now to the last item on the list, the Drop Bomb.
The Drop Bomb has the same stats as the above two, however, it has a built in ignition system... A Stone Pressure Plate. The Drop Bomb is similar to Sand and Gravel in the respect that it follows gravity. You can go to a high ledge and click to place it, and just like Sand it will fall. But when it lands the pressure plate is activated and it will explode on contact.
But what makes this block tricky is that if you place it on ground level WITHOUT it falling, it will stand there... Unignited. Now, it will act as an inversed land-mine, with pressure plate on the bottom. It will still activate if you jump on it, which I don't recommend; But it will also fall down if you mine the block supporting it.
Combine some of these blocks with a Piston mod and literally, BOOM! :biggrin.gif:
The last idea seems kinda dumb to me. I mean you would have to destroy the block under it to activate it or jump on it. The rest seem ok and are at least presented well in a good format, however, I do not like the idea of more bombs in minecraft I think tnt is enough. This is my personal opinion though.
Again, it will be said, the drop bomb is unnecessary. Current tnt will fall when you hit it, it just won't explode instantly. Not too much of a problem. What we really need is a shaped charge, that only destroys blocks in a certain direction.
The only reason I added the Drop Bomb was that I thought it was odd. :biggrin.gif: The idea popped into my head after the Fused Bomb and I had this thought of a Air Ship dropping them off the sides... Fanciful, yes. But I thought it was neat enough to get a sprite and a description.
All of that, and TNT doesn't move unless you ignite it. It really only has one purpose and that is the "mining under a base and OH CRAP!!!"... But I see your guys point-of-view on it.
DJBrooks: I didn't want to go the route of "nuke". I've seen those threads on here and I wanted something different. If you take a look at some of the Bomb threads, they all sound about the same as the Nuke threads... And I definitely didn't want that. Nukes really are out of touch with, what I feel, is the spirit of Minecraft.
RiotMaster51: I might work on that, now that you mention it. I would like to see a directional blast. Heck, the idea might even replace the Drop Bomb on the list! :biggrin.gif:
I would like to thank all of you for such wonderful posts. They are opinions and no one is trolling. This right here is what the Suggestion Forum should be. :biggrin.gif:
