Pole's, Fence's, Gateway's, Stained Glass, 4 man Boats, Hardcore mode or redone style of Minecraft, Flags and territories, Cannons and Cannonball's, Animals, Clothing, Ropes, Furniture, Ink & Quill, Scrolls and writable books.
Pole's - Poles would work much like a fence for one block and take up 2-3 blocks high they may be used to bridge together gates or decoration they can be made with 3 sticks on the crafting bench from bottom to top middle. Or you can stack 3 iron ingots from top middle to top bottom and make an iron pole which can be used to craft flag poles or support iron gates. (poles can't be connected to each other as fences to avoid people using strictly poles as fences thus replacing fences so I would suggest making it possible to walk between poles as they would be thin of course unless attacked to a corner of a fence or end it may connect to fences just not other poles)
Pillars - Pillars which goes 3 pillars high made of either cobblestone or stone,(possibly) iron and gold). purely for decoration they would have different textures then simply just stacking the blocks, 3 blocks high. They can have a slight thinner and rounder look with a thin square block on its tops and bottom. it can possibly have a cool effect like holding up a 1 square radius of sand and gravel(but that's just an extra to add to the thought)
Gates - Gates would be able to be made of wood or iron. Iron gates would work like iron doors, only red dust circuits/switches/pressure plates may open them, a gate would be like a door but 2 would be required for them to function making them 4 wide, and 2 tall acting as one door so one pressure plate switch or circuit would activate both instead of one.
Fence - Iron fences to connect to iron poles which connect to gates, they're made of iron therefore harder to break.
Flags - Flags would work kind of like paintings but instead it would be a flag, flags serve 2 or 3 purposes, 1. Claiming Territory 2. Decoration (hanging on walls replacing the painting flag) and 3. Making 4 man boats (later explained). To make a flag you would need cotton of any colour making the flag come out that colour and fill the crafting block with cotton, there would be different styles. Square, Triangle, and long square long triangle. (long hang downwards it would be possible to upload image to design your flag)
Territory Flags - Made by attaching a flag and iron pole, Territory flags can be used to claim land in a specific radius rather then everything above and under of your land like some territory mods offer, adding basic protection but not completely claiming a big portion of the map, claiming a territory would make it so your property can't be defiled in any form except from outside sources <fire spreads over, or dynamite explosion from just outside). So for example a creeper ignites inside your territory can't blow up your stuff but still hurt you, outside he may still blow up and tear your land within the claimed land so long as he's not in it, same goes for TNT. how much territory and how the territory may be expanded can be worked out with various different methods I will bring up later
Boats - Essentially a four man boat used for traversing with about 2-4 maybe 5 players it would work like a regular boat, instead one person (captain maker of the boat) would right click the wheel which would lock them in front of it with full control of the vessel with some relativity applied the players can walk around the boats and the flags would be about 4-5 blocks in the sky from the boat and 1 block under water. to make the boat it would work like this (possibly alternate models) Wooden planks x2 through the entire middle section, top right and left sections too, flag and pole in the middle and 3, 1 man boats in the bottom section.
There could also be dispensers placed between fences which can be filled with arrows or cannonballs 1 or 2 dispensers on each side of the boat(each wooden block has its individual health greater than usual).
Can break through Sand (abruptly being stopped after) ice, and to some degree wooden planks, (ships can crash into each other only a number of times before being broken) blocks that came into impact will only break depending which blocks break leaving the ship unaffected, or causing it to fill rapidly with water would would require the crew to use buckets to throw it out and then quickly repair the boat using wooden planks and possibly other items, cannons also do radius damage(but very little radius mainly where it hit) causing 2 shots to break one block or 4 radius shots in separate places to effect one wooden block to break, they cannot be controlled just fired so the boat must be aligned. (arrows can't do much unless lit on fire which can be a slow death and also washed put out with buckets of water. Not exactly sure how big boats would be but enough to fit at most 4 people to walk around as one will be on the chair making it easy for 3 people to run around it can also be good for making fleets and players can't do anything but repair take out water shoot arrows or jump onto enemy ships and fight, or man dispenser cannons.
Downside is boats this size would only be useful in larger bodies of water, may also store supplies for transportation.
Cannonballs - Would be made of 4 iron one on top one middle, one right and gunpowder in the middle, you would receive 2-4 balls for each craft(going with two)
Animals - Animals spawn depending where they are, for example horses fields, spiders and bears forests and birds or more likely to appear around tree's, now an alternative would be to completely get rid of creepers skeletons and all hostile night creatures and replace them with passive aggressive, who turn aggressive when they're hungry (once in a while) and will attack other animals and people but after satisfied turned back to passive aggressive, then passive animals which just don't attack at all, and then the animals which only attack back when attacked, it would make much more in terms of wild life and also balance between aggressive monsters and none, animals would 'disappear' at night and respawn relatively in the morning more or less amount it wouldn't be the same animals, and less but more passive aggressive animals would spawn at night, I'd suggest try not to make a cluster of variety of animals but some basics and spread them out based on terrain.
Hardcore mode - Now hardcore mode is simply a more in depth minecraft hopefully I'd like to see it just replace the system completely. Although it would retain its simplicity it would just require more to get things done.
Essentially there would be separate crafting benches and storage devices for different things, food and drinking would be necessary to stay alive and food would go bad about 2 or 3 days, making it trash to keep food good you would need to make cellar like storage devices to act as fridges, and you would also need cabinets to store clothing and armour, chests would strictly for valuables and/or storage for materials such as cobblestone, stone, iron ore, etc. There could be some sort of tool storage to hold tools (and these strictly only hold those specific items) and these could be combined with mine carts and boats to ship different kinds of items with a variety of 2 at most per ship and 1 per mine cart. This would server better for more variety in making homes and bases and allow much more decoration for different rooms.
The other aspect of hardcore mode is crafting and block breaking, blocks can't be breaked simply by hand, dirt and sand would take about 5-10 seconds and breaking other things could take even minutes with just hands or not breakable at all, reason being is it would add immersion as one cannot simply dig where they want without the right tools, now all the time values would remain with the tools being used, you would just be limited to what you can do without them, gathering wood at first would take some time but as soon as you've got an axe it would be a breeze like normal game. Also much like there is a craft-bench and forge, there would be different crafting benches for different jobs, one for wood, stone, and just different varieties again to add to a more intricate system whilst also retaining it's simplicity.
Clothing - Just like leather armor but made with wool
Dye - Can dye any block except metals and stone different colours (wooden planks would be nice for it can be used to have different coloured ships).
Furniture - Would be made with a combination of wooden planks and wool followed by the ability to apply dye to said furniture.
Texture pack Variety - Basically a variety of different styles or perhaps have themed texture packs which can also be in accordance of one pack for example, you can have different styles of doors, fences, tables, chairs,
Ropes - Would act as mobile ladders, they would work in the same way water and lava does, you right click where you want it and it falls down depending how much rope you have stacked, 1 rope for each block, you can pick it up rolling the rope back up and place it else where, again it would fall down so it would not have to be placed up against objects to climb up you simple jump onto it and look up, or look down and walk backwards.
Cannon's - Now this could be a good example of a re-textured dispenser, instead of being activated by switches and the like, it can use a variety of rope as 'fuel' which then can be lit with a flint and iron making about 1.5 seconds to fire each cannonball
making it somewhat harder to handle and less over powered, you'd want to predict where they'll be and how long it will take to get there to fire your cannon but the captain of the other ship could also manoeuvre, so it can make firefights fun.
Stained Glass - Stained glass would be made doing this, one glass block is placed in the middle around it, you can place different dye's or the same dye's depending which slot the dye is placed, that's where the dye will be located on the face of the stained glass block. It can be changed up by putting dye's in different places and different or same colour's to make a glass one colour, or multi.
Scrolls - Scrolls would be much like books but can be hunt much like signs, they can hold more text which can only be read when right clicked, to write would require ink and quill. To make a scroll it would be 3 pages from bottom middle to top middle and then on the corners of each, a stick would have to be placed.
Ink and quill - would be paired with a feather received from a duck or any kind of bird, and matched with squid ink, it may be used to write and each quill and ink would last for a certain amount of words, you would be able to write books much like in Ultima with about 20 pages per books and may only be stored in bookshelves along with scrolls.
Sadly, you didn't read the Suggestions Board Rules and broke the "You are not allowed to post more than one suggestion per thread" rule. That means that this thread will probably be 1-Ignored, 2-Locked or 3-Deleted.
Next time, make sure you read the rules before posting.
See if some of your suggestions are there (or anything that can be considered more than 50% equal to it) and then post the remaining suggestions. I'm sure you'll end up with 2 or 3 remaining suggestions...
Pole's - I dont really see the need for a longer stick if it can be done anyway. ps makes the reward so much more sweet after spending all that time with fences. But the Iron fence idea is going somewhere, that would be useful if it has increased damage resistance. Pillars - I can see this working, maybe have the shape of a hexagon for the tube instead of 3 boxes ontop of each other? Gates - Cannot see the use. Fence - Useful but only for your fences. Flags - Not sold on that idea, I would rather have much more customization if I had the option of flags. You want others to see it and know who's it is. Territory Flags - Same again except why would you want a flag that stops creeper block removal but not creeper player damage. Boats - I like the idea of a 4 man boat. The way you added in flags to build it is cool too. Cannonballs - Would you be able to retrieve cannon balls? would they be able to be normally placed on the ground otherwise? Animals - Animals varying via different boimes is a nice thought :smile.gif:
Hardcore mode - Every since it was suggested by notch first I was keen for that match type. Clothing - I like that alot. But would clothing have any damage resistance? would it have any benefitial effects at all or only cosmetic? Dye - I hate it apart from the idea of the diff coloured wood, but my use for that can be done with coloured torches. Furniture - Deffinitely. No questions asked or needed.
Texture pack Variety - Is there really a need? Arent players already doing this? Ropes - Im not completely sold on a rope item, maybe if it had some feature to let you shoot it to remote locations? Cannon's - No. not for me at least. Do you realise how much damage could be done using that? Stained Glass - No questions needed. Yes. Scrolls - Why use a scroll? Why not just use a normal bookshelf and have books that can be written in and then stored in bookshelves? Ink and quill - Either way, scroll or book it will still be needed so yeah I like that item as well.
