Okay... This is my suggestion. It's a camera, yes, but it's pretty different from the ones already suggested.
WHY IS THIS NEEDED?
The camera is practical for monitoring, seeing who robbed your chest, etc. but also to take nice pictures to hang on your wall.
THE CAMERA
Recipe open for suggestions.
The camera takes a picture every time it receives a redstone current. Clock generators can make it repeating. The camera can be used to spot intruders or take pictures to put on the wall. If you click on it, it will show a GUI:
Didn't have time to make it better. It should have a zoom slider.
As you can see, it can hold up to ten pictures at once. They can be dragged to the inventory to be hung on the wall, and you can drag pictures into the camera. (For a later function) You can delete pictures to open more space for other pictures, and you can zoom the camera, so the camera will take pictures closer or farther.
Then:
THE MONITOR/SCREEN

The monitor/screen shows the pictures taken by the camera. It will take the pictures from a camera that is connected with redstone to the back of itself, and show them when powered to the back. Power to the right side will go to the next picture, while power to the left will go to the previous. It will give off a light level of 5.

Thanks for reading, and feel free to say if there are any problems with this, and why!

Medieval builder and texture artists. Also totally awesome.
Using pistons, monitors/screens and cameras, you can actually make a movie. The pistons pushing the cameras while a clock generator lets the monitor/screen show the pictures fast. The only problem is that clock generators can't be that fast.

Well, mine has a monitor/screen, and is a block (your seems to be a wall item) It's pretty new, I see, so no wonder why I didn't find it when searching!
