LAN Parties. How hard is it? CS:S can do it, and a lot of other ValvE games can too. Why not Minecraft? Take this for an example.
You go to a party and all your friends come and bring their laptops to play Minecraft on a server. Uh-oh! Their crappy computers can't handle it/they don't know how or can't port forward! The solution?
LAN parties.
A simple concept would be in between join server and cancel there would be a button that says Start LAN Party. You would click it and you'd be able to name the server and password protect it. Then, if you want to play, under Start LAN Party you would click a button that says Join LAN Party. Then, a list of LAN parties under your connection would show up. You'd click them, see the info, and if theres a password, enter the password, and then join the server. Sorry for no concept pictures.
