DESCRIPTION OF MINECRAFT WEATHER Minecraft's weather system consists of two types of weather , rain or snow.
A thunderstorm can occur when it is raining or snowing and lightning might strike.
So far that is all.
IDEAS I was thinking of hopefully adding another weather , one that occurs between a winterstorm and a rainstorm.
FREEZING RAIN!
Freezing rain would occur about 20 blocks in the middle of the two weathers and damages anything that is inside it (entity-wise),when hit by freezing rain , you will get a warmth gui , (Fire for hearts) if the last fire goes out , you start to lose health.
What else?
If you check wikipedia on freezing rain , you will see that it freezes anything that it comes in contact with so I suggest making a "ice armour" so anything inside freezing-rain would be covered in this "ice armour".
ICE ARMOUR Ice armour is basically , a offcolouring of normal colours , eg : Green becomes whitish , Brown becomes whitish and so on and so forth.
HARVESTING ICE ARMOUR.
However , the blocks caught in the freezing rain , will drop only a few icicles , you can throw them at mobs to increase damage , or use them for ice-arrows which will give the opponent cold-damage.
ICE ARMOUR - OTHER USES
Ice armoured blocks , aka icicles , can be crushed to give you crushed ice , crushed ice is something that acts like a web , you place it on the ground , it will occupy 1/16 of a block's space , however , it will NOT slow down the opponent , rather give them the warmth GUI.
ICE PHYSICS
So far , sunlight does NOT melt ice , while other light-sources do , my solution for this is , marking each biome with a sunlight temparature. Lighting will NOT be affected .
TEMPARATURE
Temparature of your surroundings determine whether natural flowers of mushrooms will grow (If that is added) and whether trees will grow.
RAINFOREST
The temparature , I'd say it would be around 28 degrees CELSIUS
SWAMP
27 degrees.
SEASONAL FOREST
25 degrees.
FOREST
26 degrees
SAVANNA
29 degrees
WOODS
26 degrees.
TAIGA
-1 to 10 degrees.
DESERT
Obviously 34 degrees +.
PLAINS
27 degrees
TUNDRA
-10 to 8 degrees.
UNOFFICIALLY , NETHER
Even hotter than the desert. =P
TEMPARATURE
Pine trees grow in 10 degrees and below
Birch and oak 10 degrees to 30 degrees.
HEATSTROKE
Heatstroke is a phenomenon that occurs if you are in a biome that has temparatures over 40 degrees.
It will happen unless you wear a certain suit of armour made of possibly leather and iron?
You have to be in that particualar biome/dimension for 10 minutes to get a heatstroke.
The heatstroke bar will be buckets of water , every minute you lose one so be prepared
HOWEVER before heatstrokes happen , your screen will shake and shake , as if you are going to collapse , then you will lose 2 hearts per second.
RESETTING THE HEATSTROKE TIMER
There is only two ways ,
Drinking water , if you right-click on a bucket of water while you are in the desert , you will drink it.
It will reset the timer by 5 minutes.
However the other way is sleeping in the night.
You will recover 4 minutes of heatstroke time during a sleep from night to day , regardless how long.
FROSTBITE
Frostbite is the polar opposite (pun =P) of the heatstroke.
You will get the same warmth GUI.
Being close to a fire will stop your frostbite timer from going down.
You will get frostbite in 10 degrees and below temparatures.
Reset it by eating cooked food.
Lasts for 10 minutes.
-1 heart if the timer is up every 3 seconds.
COMING SOON.

Those that don't search are scum , those that know the topic has been suggested , but still suggest them , are worse than scum.
Fairly well thought out and properly spelled. Your points and arguments are well consideted and unbiased. The idea itself is pretty good, so naturally I support it. The only thing is, by "ice rain", do you mean "hail"?
