Just an interesting idea that just popped into mind. Although, this would definitely exponentially better if and when new mobs are added (for variety).
The basic idea is that there would be random events that occur during gameplay that have increased spawn rates for a certain mob.
eg:
Pig season
Creeper season
Skeleton season
just to name a few.
This should spice up the survival aspect of the game, especially when hordes of zombies finally come. It's also be interesting if the moon could be tied in (eg: a full moon would attract more squid, or a red moon would call for undead, a blue moon would. idk haha)
hmm.. thinking about it, a some sort of calendar to anticipate these things would be cool too ^^
What is the point? Seriously, it just adds another pointless random factor. Should I care about more skeletons when I'm safely tucked up in my house? No. Should I care about more pigs, sheep or cows? God no.
