Easier Port Forwarding
A realistic approach by NamTaey
Hello and before I start, if anyone else has thought of this and has posted, I am seriously sorry. Also, people in favor of Easier/Better Servers should not be offended in anyway.
Okay, let us begin. Minecraft is a different kind of game, we all know that. It deserves a great server. When I login to Minecraft I don't click on Singleplayer. I go straight to Multiplayer and start playing with my friends. MINECRAFT IS A SOCIAL GAME. Unfoutunaly, I am restricted to playing on my LAN because my router can't support port forwarding. "Many angry fingers are pointed at Mojang." No wait! Don't get mad at them, they have created an awesome game. Mojang does have to understand that the key to selling more Minecraft and reducing people who automatically go to a torrent site is... Multiplayer. But we need to be realistic here folks. We can't just ask Mojang to make a 5GB and built-in server hosting program. Not to mention Minecraft is still Beta! Now I am just going in circles so let me explain how this may be done.
How it Will Be Done
Step One- He/She will access the Minecraft site and download the server.exe/jar.
Step Two- He/She will follow all the steps currently used
Step Three- There will be a button/icon that says either "Make Public" or "Port Forward"
That is it. I don't want much more. "It isn't that easy fool!" I know it isn't but it is key for increase of profits.
Issues With Easier Server Hosting
There are mutiple issuse with easier sever hosting. One is simply server spamming. Another is simply anyone with a brain size bigger than or equal to a acorn can make a server which could be poorly ran and hacked
Any comments would be great and if the idea is generally liked, can someone make a signature picture?
This is irrelevant. Port forwarding has to do with your modem, not Minecraft. Minecraft cant port forward for you. To make information go through a general port would mean more traffic, and more lag on the server. If you wanna port forward, ask someone else. Minecraft cant change this.

Oh my gosh! I AM SORRY STAPLES!
But seriously:
No I don't think it is the same thing =)
As the only routers that do not support it are from '94 and '95. Within the first year that civilians could use the internet.
try http://portforward.com and google.
