I can't imagine any situation where the light piston would be required - if you want a piston to be under the spot where gravel or sand (or whatever) would land - then just put one there,
I also can't imagine a situation where the sturdy piston would be needed, as it would seem to only be a problem when people get sloppy when placing pistons.
The climbing piston effect could be achieved through a sticky piston + any other block.
and the fact that everyone already knows what a sticky piston is means that the idea of a sticky piston has already been tossed about a ton (heck, it's in the mod)

in theory a flung piston could fling a previously flung piston, making a fully automated piston elevator that could take you from bedrock (not including piston space) to max hight with a press of a button (you could already but its more complicated

i disagree, with this i see people building auto build/repairing structures with staircases and well other stuff,
i feel it would be handy and nothings wrong with being a bit sloppy. and i forgot to mention sturdy pistons cant be exploded!

um.. i didn't think of the sticky piston if you look at my original post

that wouldn't work with the physics of minecraft, as moving blocks do not impede movement nor liquids. (you would fall through)

Still not seeing why it would be needed- the blocks would have to be moved in front of a piston in order for the piston to be able to move it - pushing a block into a piston would not make sense either way. And why would a piston be near TNT? If it is for a trap, then make the tnt pop out of a wall, and it will fall when activated.

explain...? If you want a block to simply move up and down, then a sticky piston and literally any other block would do the same thing. Or even just a regular piston without a block, thinking about it again.
If you meant that the block would basically "Crawl" while pushing a block indefinitely in a given direction (either I'm just tired or it is a bit on the unclear side - I thought you meant basically a piston where the "box" side would move rather than the piston) then it is a one-time use as it would need to be reset each time... due to that, it would only be useful in a handful of very rare situations - and it would still be more "long-term" to use a series of pistons rather than a single piston.

that bit was meant as something to the effect of "nothing is really new here" and "develop your ideas a bit more."

why yes.. yes it is... thanks for noticing.

mod the physics, instead of being sand, make it flatten you when it falls on you. aka one could make it a solid falling block

i still disagree, tnt popping from the floor is scarier (less obvious but scarier) plus you could make it look like cake popped out of the floor by the following: = cake = sturdy piston =player
:Flint:= pressure pad =redstone

the idea is to make the movement long term, a use for mossy coblestone and not a waste of ingridients

aaaah a ****ing creeper, SAVE ME NOTCH
[]
a piston that cant be moved by other pistons
[]
an unmovable sticky piston
[]
when the piston un-extends the block moves to the space of the arm instead of other way round
[]
falls and can be launched by other pistons
[]
same as above but sticky
[]
same as climbing piston but drags the block behind it along as it moves
So Any Thoughts?
Gold instead of iron makes sticky pistons in the actual mod.
still, it seems like a missed opportunity to have made a use for slimeballs
i suppose just the mod...
but its always be nice to see ones idea in a game...
and about slimeballs,
if anyone bothers to take up these ideas (doubtful) i suppose its up to them...
Slime is slime, not glue.
