Records are quite disappointing in Minecraft, don't you agree? There are only two and they seem to be not fulfilling what I see as untapped potential. I came up with a few ideas for Records that would, in my opinion make them a little more creative and fun. 78rpm Records
To start off, you would craft them with a new material, shellac. I'm not sure how shellac would be implemented though as it comes from a bug in Asia. Shellac would be used to craft 78 rpm records, like the ones already in the game. the 78 rpms would be crafted like so.
= Shellac

Now you have a Shellac record. Then, with the help of a type of recording block that you could craft, u can select from your computer a song to put on it. Then you could rename it from "Blank Record" to whatever. u also could take your record and dye the center label to help identify the record.
33.5rpm "Longplay" records
Now this would be all fine and dandy but then your record collection starts to add up. 78's are great in all but they, like the ones already in the game, can only hold one song. now you could move on to 33 LP's but they don't make those out of shellac, because its brittle and easy to break. So another new material would have to be made, Vinyl. Once again, i'm not really sure how you would get vinyl because its man-made and I'm not exactly sure what its made of. Vinyl could have other uses too, like perhaps a bag that slightly increases inventory, but that would be another post.
Anyway, you take the vinyl and you craft a 33'. Since 33's are larger than 78's you will need more material as well.
= Vinyl
Okay, now you have a 33'. With a 33', you can record say, maybe 5 songs (In actuality, they can hold about 12 songs, give or take based on length). You should also be able to name, and dye LP's as well.
Advanced Jukeboxes
With the 33's though, you might maybe need a more sophisticated Jukebox. maybe now by putting two jukeboxes next to each other, they turn into a better one.I think the original Jukebox should look like a turntable with a wood finish, and the advanced one would look like a traditional Juke Box.
= Juke Box

With the more sophisticated one, you can play both 33 LP's and 78's.
Loud Speakers
Now say your enjoying yourself with your music, but the problem is, you want to hear your music from far away. There would be a new item called a loudspeaker, speaker, or amplifier, I don't really know what the name should be. they would be crafted using iron, and would look like a loudspeaker.

The Loudspeakers would be placed like torches, you can place them on walls and on the ground, if they were on the ground, they would have a small stand to hold them up. You then connect them to the Jukebox using red stone wire and When you play a record on the Jukebox, the sound will transmit to the speakers connected so you can play music at a distance. This could also be helpful as maybe a tool for server owners to broadcast the rules of the server in the spawn.
Repeaters
Another Idea is repeaters. With yet another craft-able item, you could make a small hand-held device u could place on the Advanced Jukebox. If you place it on the Advanced Jukebox, it will repeat the record placed in it until the player takes the record out. When you take the record out, you will receive the repeater as well, that way you only repeat the Records you want to.

Records and jukeboxes are already in the game. Why does adding the ability to craft them make the game too high tech?
