With this suggestion i will be taking you behind the scenes of redstone. Now, let's get started! First of all I hope that you consider these suggestions before flaming me m'kay? It has been suggest before and that kind of thing is okay to say and i will edit it out! Redstone should be craftable into blocks same as diamond, gold etc. but redstone blocks should give off a bit of light but not as much as a torch. If you smelt redstone it could become redstone ingots or impure redstone ingots? (need help on that :tongue.gif:) If it was impure maybe you smelt it again to make a pure redstone ingot? (Again, need suggestion.) Thanx for reading (If you did!)
No, like the person above me said, it's not a generic ore, it's a different valuable made to create semi-electricity. It doesn't need to be messed around with Blocks or Ingots.
I wouldn't really mind being able to craft redstone into 9x9 blocks, but since its a powder, it should be affected by gravity like sand, and break into 9 redstone dust at the slightest provocation. It could possibly carry current upward, but I don't think it should emit any practical light; just as much as an active wire emits (if any).
All metals can be powder... which can be smelted. (not that I like this idea, but just sayin').
