WHAT if Notch would make mocreatures part of the game? He could add the files to the actual program, and add all the extra animals even without us having to download the mod. please reply your thoughts and ideas.
This has been frequently suggested, and just as frequently rejected. While some people do like the mod, a large majority of people don't feel they really add much to gameplay, and are either happy with the mobs as they are or would rather see some new official ones implemented by Notch.
As the mod doesn't have enormous support for being added as core gameplay, it should stay as a mod where it can be used by those who want it, and ignored by those who don't. There's not much way players who dislike these new creatures can simply "avoid" seeing them, as they're everywhere.
I'd be for it if there was a GUI to turn certain mobs on or off, to adjust their rarity as well as to turn certain features on or off, as I am not sure how I feel about flying mounts and certain horses. Ymmv. I do like the idea of more mobs though. Have always supported that. For it to gain more traction though, it would have to be optional.
To that end, what I'd rather have is a mod gui itself, allowing mods to be installed or uninstalled much in te same way texture packs are. I am definitely not a manual mod installer as I dont like the idea of fiddling with the game files and potentially messing something up that I cant figure out how to fix, hence I play with no mods at all.
