Lightbulb. Lights stuff up when socket is powered.

The socket. Where lightbulbs must be inserted. Gives power to lightbulb when powered.

Can be placed on walls, ground, or ceiling, like a torch. The redstone must be touching the block from behind the socket.
When right clicked holding a lightbulb, it will be inserted. If the socket holds a bulb, right clicking it will give you it. If it has been used, it will show durability. If the lightbulb is completely worn out, it will be shown as a "Burnt Out Lightbulb"
Rose is redstone.
This will be useful for.. lighting.
Once a lightbulb is broken, it cannot be recovered. If the socket is broken, it will drop only a socket.
A fresh lightbulb will produce 15 light.
The lightbulb will reduce by 1 light level every 8 MC hours. This means that if it is kept on for 5 consecutive days, it will be 0 light level. If you let this happen, it will Burn Out.
If it is turned off, you will need to wait a MC hour for it to recharge 1 light level.
The lightbulb has 251 uses, (each time it is turned on and off,) until it loses 1 light level. Once it cannot produce anymore light, it will be shown as a "Burnt Out Lightbulb"
That is my lightbulb suggestion. Tell me if you like it or not, and vote in the poll! Constructive criticism is welcome. Please help me improve with my suggestions!
wow. I was the last person to suggest this. Search for this stuff being suggested in the past next time before you post so you aren't wasting people's time with stuff that has already been suggested.
have a nice day

What if... minecraft was made in China?

EVERY recipe would require at least one lead block.
Even food.
ESPECIALLY food.
Idea: Redstone torch + glass = redstone-powered light. Infinite like current torches, and gives as much light as regular torches.
The socket and all just sounds like overcomplication of a simpler possibility. Plus it sounds like electricity, which doesn't exist in-game.
Redstone torches give 14 light? I don't think so.

The only thing I searched was lightbulb, but didn't look far. Sorry.

Nobody said that. They give 7.
What you're after is powered light. The above is a much simpler way to do it, and avoids all the electricity-ish stuff about burning out and all. Redstone torch because it's powered light, and glass to magnify the light given (think magnifying glass). Hence, the crafted result could give 14.

Do you show children your phallus? Is that what you want them to see?

Gives as much light as regular torches.
EDIT:
Isn't redstone pretty much electricity in this game? It powers stuff.
It is dust... dust that when in an active state reverses the state of other dust that is on a stick.
Electricity can't do that.
