Doors are pretty good but I have an idea to upgrade them.
GLASS DOORS IDEA.
You would craft them the same, but you would do this (with being button.) [] [] []
and you would open it but it would break if someone punched it! The real idea is a door that would open at the press of a button and it would be easy to get but fragile and easy to break.
DOORS w/ BELLS Which is trashed
Take a normal door, modify it ( being note block) [] []
and when you press the button the diamond block would ring, but only able to hear inside (unless the pitch is set high enough to hear outside.)
LARGER DOORS
Take a door, combine two, you get 1 big door. Combine 2 big doors, you get a huge door, kind of like a russian doll system.

I dislike all ideas that can already be done with a little skill. Wire a button to a door, and a noteblock to the button. Putting it all in one door just takes all the creativity out of it.

The first one has been suggested many times, and the second one is really simple to do already.
I mean without the ugly circuit. It'd be easier anyways because the button would be on the door, and there wouldn't be a circuit nearby.
And no, it does not, because a circuit is more tech-related than creative.
i made a doorbell out of redstone, its not hard. i even got it to go 'ding-dong'
But what about the novelty? And something else to consider...

Hate to break it to you, but everyone having the same crafted door with a doorbell is a hell of a lot less "novel" than building your own. Which is also cooler than having the same thing as every single other player.
