Hello. My suggestion, as stated in the title, is Lines Hooks and Buckets
This would add to the game a line that could attach from one block to another. It could be attached to two blocks either by hand or using some sort of line-launcher. Once two blocks are connected by a line, you can attach a hook to it. You could then fill a bucket with water or lava, attach it to the hook, and watch it move slowly along the line. Upon reaching the other side, the bucket would tip over and pour it's contents onto whatever is below it. Or, a box of items could be attached to the hook, to safely transport items home when you are burdened with a full inventory. In SMP, this could be used to transport supplies and goods between towns, creating a reliable trade system. And then there's the obvious application, transportation. If a mine cart is attached to the line, players can use it to travel safely. And if lines could slope up or down, ski lifts and roller coasters become a possibility.
Other ideas:
Power a line with redstone, and you can control when the hook leaves and comes back, and recall it if you change your mind. Or maybe instead of that, a control panel that lets you choose the speed at which the hook moves
A line that instead of transporting hooks horizontally, lowers a line down to collect liquids in a bucket, or haul items to the top of a tower. This way you could have a well or an elevator.
I think this would add a lot to the game. What do you guys think?

If string is too hard to find, then feathers or wool could work too.
