I love building big cool boats in mc but I can never use them, they just sit there.soo why can't we place blocks on the small wooden boat to make a pirate ship, cruise ship and anything else really but the most important thing is that u can drive them! Please notch add this!
I was thinking something like that too. Maybe you craft a "Boat Seat" or something.
The mushroom being redstone.
You would build the boat, place the seat on it, and right click it. Then you would drive it like the normal boat.
The seats could also be placed on normal blocks to work as a functioning decoration that you can sit in. This would NOT allow you to drive your house around if placed on your house.
This might cause major frame rate issues though, as the game would have to move 100s of blocks at a time.
This would be cool, but , as previously stated, framerate would be a major drawback the boat would do little more than it's original function: sitting there.

Yeah that's true the framerate would be terrible and I would not like to play with full fog on the rest of minecraft but it is worth a try.

Good luck finding anywhere to sail that thing.
The physics are too complex. Build one of these, and it'll lag your game out.
